Home once again!
I have spent the past 2 weeks in Michigan, visiting family, soaking in the sun and catching up with family on vacation, and just enjoying the Michigan summers. It was a whirlwind of a trip!
We headed to St. Joseph on June 10 (drove through the night) because we had Dan’s Grandma’s memorial service on the 11th. Dan flew home the 12th, and I stayed with Dan’s parents and my parents, until the 17th, where Dan flew back to Michigan and we drove up to Alger (Secord Lake), where we spent a week with my family. Then we drove back down to St. Joseph to spend a few more days with Dan’s family and then back to Minnesota we went, yesterday. It was WELL WORTH the whirlwind though! Mazy couldn’t get enough of her cousins and did well overall! She still struggles to sleep at night, which she has since the day she was born, but she is HEALTHY! No ear infections, no pneumonia, and even her hand is healed from the vacuum incident! She is getting her bottom molars, but that we can take! So here’s a little glimpse at our past 2 weeks:
Making silly faces for Grandpa
We were not sure how Mazy would do in the water. We knew she loved baths, but boy, we did not know she would love the water as much as she did! Her smile says it all!
Dan doing tricks off the rope swing
My Grandma was also able to come up to the cottage with us, which meant Mazy could spend quality time with her too.
Happy Father’s Day to Dan! The best gift he said he could have received was Mazy catching her first fish. Even more so, was the fact that she loved to touch the fish, poke it’s eyes, and stick her fingers in it’s mouth. Made Dan’s day!
Twinning! Addison and I have almost the same haircut!
My sister was able to get a little pony tail in Mazy’s hair! I can’t wait to do more of those (when she lets me!)
We were able to do a little photo shoot with family!
4 Generations – never thought I would be able to take this picture, with a little one in my arms!
Because Mazy loved the water (though not her life jacket!!!), we decided try and take her tubing. Once we got the life jacket on and started moving, she LOVED it! She would lift up her hands, close her eyes, and say “WEEEEE”! It was just adorable!
Natalie, a cousin on the other side, MADE this dress for Mazy!
Hanging out with Auntie
Way to ham up the picture Uncle Doug!

While at the cottage with my family, we spent our days by the beach at the cottage, boating, sitting in the rocking chairs overlooking the water, making puzzles, eating WAY too much of way too good of food, and having spa days with my nieces, going on walks, playing Ticket To Ride, and just catching up with family. Things that make that vacation complete! Mazy was so spoiled because she had her cousins to walk her around all day. They were always there to help, which was such a gift for this mama! They love Mazy so much, which means the world to us!
I think I have even more pictures from our adventures to the mitten, so I am sure there are more to come! We are so grateful to have had this time with family! In fact, at Grandma’s memorial service, we hadn’t seen some of those cousins for at least 12 years! Again, another beautiful time spent with family and catching up on each other’s lives!
Now it’s back to routine, which feels good too!
