Have you ever had one of those weeks that has completely flown by, but you wonder what you even did? That was this past week for me, but thankfully I have these pictures to go through to realize that we sure had a lot of fun and we sure did plenty of things. Not that my goal is to fill our weeks up with fun activities and things to do all the time, but it sure was a good one! I find though, that there is much beauty in being at home, creating our own fun, and letting the imagination run wild!
This past week, we tried to take advantage of the warmer weather because we know snow could truly be right around the corner! So…here’s what our past week looked like:
We upgraded Mazy to the bike we got her for her birthday in March! This long-legged girl fits perfecting on it now.
Dan and I have started up some house projects, one of them being scraping and painting our storm windows (they are original). Mazy LOVES to help in any way she can, and she asked to scrape, so I figured why not? Not going to lie, she did a really good job!
After scraping came the painting, and so I have her something to paint while I painted the windows. Again, she is very detailed and did a great job painting the hurdle that she uses for track, when she wants to “practice” (as she tells me).
Biking on her new wheels
Made plenty of trips to the park this week!
Mazy always enjoys belting out Jesus Loves Me from the band shell!
While I was folding some clothes, Mazy told me to come look…I didn’t realize she had colored over her whole face! Usually you take a bath to get clean, not to get more dirty! Who cares, right? She’s having fun and at least she’s IN the bathtub!
Rockstar dad right here! Mazy loves to ride on Dan’s shoulders while he mows…that sure takes some strength!
And then he sits down with her and starts making necklaces with perler beads and fishing line…
There were a handful of storms that came through this past week and Mazy is deathly afraid of them (I was too when I was a kid), so the shooting muffs work GREAT to drown out the noise!
Dan was putting in some tile around our house where we get water in, so Mazy had to make sure to help too
Having fun at Pumpkin Fest in our town! It was a weekend event, where they had all kinds of fun things to do for kids, various competitions, food, everything. Saturday afternoon finally cleared up a bit, so we headed over to the Kidz Fest before the parade started!
She rode this 4 times!
And she played on here for at least 45 minutes! Thankfully it wasn’t too crazy because the weather wasn’t great, so it was perfect. Her face says it all!
Getting her face painted
Waiting for the parade to start!
When we moved in, there weren’t many doors hung. We thought we had to buy all new doors, but after digging through all the pool stuff, we found them! There were about 7 doors leaning up against a wall, but then we had the task of figuring out which door went on which frame. We’ve done quite a few of them, but our basement door was one that we had yet to do…but we found which door it was! As you can see, it’ll take some painting, but they are original doors, and it was fun to see the 6 or so layers of paint on these doors! History right on our door! And, Mazy had to make sure she helped Dad with her Melissa and Doug Toolbox. Anytime she can hear Dan working on something, she yells, “Dad, I’m coming…let me grab my toolbox!” Such a little mini-me!
I walked into the living room and Dan was braiding Mazy’s hair for the first time! And that is not half-bad! I was impressed.
You ever have those weeks where they fly by, but you wonder what you did? Thank
