  1. What is your opinion on going garage sale shopping? Many times I will shop for hours and buy things that are just a couple dollars because they are cheap but then I never use them. I'm curious as to your thoughts?

  2. That is a GREAT question! My whole philosophy is to live with less, so doesn't going to garage sale kind of go against that thought? It depends. I think you hit it right on the dot by saying "I never use them." So often we fall into the trap of "it's cheap" and "how could we pass up that deal?" What we really need to think FIRST is "do I really need it?" Garage sales can be dangerous for that very fact – bringing in items we do not need. That is why heading out the door with a LIST of what you might be looking for, is a great way to start. Branching off from that list is when we spend money on typically useless things. I personally do not go to garage sales often because I know I do not need anything. Our town recently had one and I didn't go to a single one because I knew I would buy something I didn't need, while we too, are challenging ourselves to live with less. Hope this helps and thank you for your comment! I think this is a question MANY have, but never ask!

  3. Thanks for your response! I have never gone with a list before, but I'm definately going to try that because there are some items I would much rather find at garage sale prices than in a normal store. Yet, I don't need any more cheap flip flops or old movies!! I will keep that in mind as the season approaches!
