Exploring Minnesota – New Ulm
Christmas is fast approaching? Are you ready? I sometimes feel when people ask the question whether I am ready or not, I feel I have to have this huge checklist checked off, with nothing but Christmas bliss left. Christmas shouldn’t be about a to-do list. Yet that is what we have made it to be….
I sometimes do not know what to think about Black Friday. For weeks, there have been commercials about when certain deals are starting for weeks. In fact, many stores have started their “Black Friday” sales at the beginning of the month! Then I wonder, why do we make such a big deal about Black Friday?…
This past weekend we had the chance to explore a little bit more of Minnesota up north! It was a very short weekend, but well worth it! Some friends of ours invited us up to a lake cabin where we spent quality time getting to know each other. It was a blessed weekend even though it…
This past week was a little hectic as I went back to work! I felt I had thoroughly enjoyed the summer, spent amazing and quality time with Mazy, and so I felt ready to go back to work my 2 days. Plus, Mazy is just such a sucker for her dad, so I knew she…
Last night was a monumental moment for me. Moving to Minnesota means new adventures. One of those new adventures that I have been so excited to do was go ICE FISHING. Since moving out here, we have been asked many times if we ice fish. In Michigan, we never went. Dan has some ice fishing…
I have to admit, this is maybe some of the worst weather we have had since moving out here to Minnesota! Not that we have gotten dumped on with snow, but the combination of the snow and WIND, has left monumental (literally) effects. School is cancelled tomorrow, in which we are not surprised! Dan and…

Kristin!! I would totally go to New Ulm this summer with you! I love looking at the historical sites around the area! 🙂 You should head to Montevideo sometime and check out the Pioneer village! But go this summer, when you can walk around! Then the boys and I can go too! They are awesome sites! <3
Wow we just have so much in common! Dan and I both enjoy historical sites. We will definitely have to go both places this summer!
You had fun cleaning? The only time that happens to me is if I have company to talk to and keep the kids out from under my feet! April is right though, Pioneer Village is SO much fun! There are some really cool historical spots down in the Minnesota River valley about 30-45 minutes south of us too … old farmsteads, sites of Indian attacks, and 2 miles west of Pburg is a farm that actually is listed as a historical site because Indians once camped there on their way to the massacres in the river valley.
Ang – that is good to know about the Minnesota River valley too! I never even heard of it :). That is why asking people where to go (people who live here) is so much easier instead of meandering around towns, aimlessly. I LOVE old farmsteads and what not! Thanks for the info and if you have anymore, let me know!
