Exploring Minnesota – New Ulm
As I think about Christmas being just around the corner, I can’t help but think about how I live my life!? Do I live my life for ideas of who I want to be and the stuff I surround myself with, or do I live in contentment, joy, and peace? Dan and I were busy…
Welcome to my blog! Even though I haven’t changed the complete look of kristinsterk.com, I did decide it was time to freshen it up. With the ever-evolving options on the internet, I decided to start off summer by spending some time on rejuvenating this blog a bit. Just like with everything else in life, there…
The other night, I had an idea to do a few fall crafts with Mazy in the morning. I pinned the ideas on Pinterest and made sure I had the right items to make them. I couldn’t wait to show her when she woke up, what I had come up with. There was this beautiful…
Tip #19 – Start each week with a meal plan Meal planning may sound like too much work already AT THE TIME. Imagine if everyday, you knew exactly what you were going to have, what you needed to do to make it, and actually had all of the ingredients you needed? That is what meal…
If someone says my name, you may associate me with “the girl who has heart problems”. And you know what? You’re exactly right. I’ve been walking with official heart failure since 2017, though my heart struggles began the day I was born. God just didn’t open our eyes to my congenital heart defect until I…
I used to get a bit anxious when my health was “steady” so to speak. Sounds kind of odd, right? Who doesn’t want steady? It made me nervous in the sense that I knew “something” was on the horizon because that was how life was going. Always waiting for the next shoe to drop. But…

Kristin!! I would totally go to New Ulm this summer with you! I love looking at the historical sites around the area! 🙂 You should head to Montevideo sometime and check out the Pioneer village! But go this summer, when you can walk around! Then the boys and I can go too! They are awesome sites! <3
Wow we just have so much in common! Dan and I both enjoy historical sites. We will definitely have to go both places this summer!
You had fun cleaning? The only time that happens to me is if I have company to talk to and keep the kids out from under my feet! April is right though, Pioneer Village is SO much fun! There are some really cool historical spots down in the Minnesota River valley about 30-45 minutes south of us too … old farmsteads, sites of Indian attacks, and 2 miles west of Pburg is a farm that actually is listed as a historical site because Indians once camped there on their way to the massacres in the river valley.
Ang – that is good to know about the Minnesota River valley too! I never even heard of it :). That is why asking people where to go (people who live here) is so much easier instead of meandering around towns, aimlessly. I LOVE old farmsteads and what not! Thanks for the info and if you have anymore, let me know!
