Tip #13 – One In, One Out This is a simple, frugal living principle. Anytime you bring a new item in, one needs to go. This is the case with ANYTHING – shampoo, magazine subscriptions, food, clothes, movies, etc. Before you buy another kind of shampoo, finish the one you currently have. Before you order…
photo source Books. Blogs. Magazines, Twitter accounts. Facebook Newsfeeds. Emails. Mail. Junk mail. If we all had the time, it would be a full-time job to read all of the things that we are bombarded with on a daily basis. Just think of all of the things you could sit down and read. Think about…
I have struggled with my closet. It’s not that it isn’t big enough. It’s not that I don’t have enough clothes. It’s not that I don’t like my clothes. The problem is that I have too many, I have plenty that I like, and my closet has clothes in it that I don’t need. I…
What: Make-Up Why: Make-up is something that we tend to collect and never use. It is time to purge and live with less – even when it comes to make-up! How: 1.Go grab your make-up bag, pouch, whatever you use. 2. Dump it ALL out. As in “if you have make-up stored in other places, grab…
We all have dreams of what we want to look like. We see a picture in a magazine and think “I will look like that someday” (or dream that we will). We see a manikin with an outfit on and think “I want that outfit” – yet when we try it on, it looks like anything…

Great post. I have an iPad which I love. It replaced my laptop when it died. I work at home & my job provides the work PC. I have a cell phone but don't have a smartphone. I'm tethered to my computer all day so I like being away from it when I'm out & about.
I like this! Being able to step away IS a beautiful thing!
I love having a smartphone and it would be hard to live without once you get used to it but it is a convenience not a necessity. I moved up from a tracfone a year ago but still don't have a regular data plan. I mostly rely on wifi. So much is spent on expensive plans and high end phones.
The biggest negative I see is the distraction they are when with other people. Way too easy to keep checking phones or messing with them instead of spending time together.
That is exactly how I feel – once you get one, it would be hard to go back :). I agree too, that they can be a distraction – but I realize that even with my tracfone, I can easily pick it up and text someone, when with other people. It's a reality check and it's always something to think about! Thanks for sharing!
