The Problem of Following Technology Fads

How many electronic gadgets do you have?
One of the things that we go through most in our house is paper. Not even construction paper, but that plain ole white computer paper. Thankfully it’s cheap and can be recycled because boy we sure go through a lot of it! The other day, as I was scanning our living room floor, I realized…
Another ridiculous topic, right? Batteries. Where are your batteries? Where do you store them? Are they all in one location? Really? “Mom, I need 2 AA batteries!” Have you heard that phrase about a zillion times, yet don’t have a clue where even ONE is? You look in the “battery drawer” but all you see…
How you doing? Have you thought of other ways to save money? I would love to hear them! What is your go-to method to make sure you are spending less than what you take in? Hopefully these ideas will spur you on to save even MORE! 1. Wash your clothes in cold water. Your washer…
On Saturday, our families and friends came to help us do some work around our new home! We had many boxes to unpack, find places for everything we owned, and of course the fixing up house to make it our own. Thanks to everyone’s help, we got pretty far! We are hoping to add a…
Since I started blogging, I have had the privilege of being introduced to many practical, useful, time-saving, and unique products. I can be very skeptical of multi-level marketing companies, as I feel they are always trying to get me to buy what I don’t need. I am too Dutch to spend my money on something…
We have a 3 year old in our house and she is PRETTY certain about how things should go in life. Your’s too? Mazy has always been a bit of a picky eater (what child isn’t to some extent) and I remember trying and trying different foods, wishing and wishing that she would like SOMETHING…

Great post. I have an iPad which I love. It replaced my laptop when it died. I work at home & my job provides the work PC. I have a cell phone but don't have a smartphone. I'm tethered to my computer all day so I like being away from it when I'm out & about.
I like this! Being able to step away IS a beautiful thing!
I love having a smartphone and it would be hard to live without once you get used to it but it is a convenience not a necessity. I moved up from a tracfone a year ago but still don't have a regular data plan. I mostly rely on wifi. So much is spent on expensive plans and high end phones.
The biggest negative I see is the distraction they are when with other people. Way too easy to keep checking phones or messing with them instead of spending time together.
That is exactly how I feel – once you get one, it would be hard to go back :). I agree too, that they can be a distraction – but I realize that even with my tracfone, I can easily pick it up and text someone, when with other people. It's a reality check and it's always something to think about! Thanks for sharing!
