Around The Home
As many of you in the midwest are well aware, we have had a scorcher of a week! It is hard to remind myself that it is September, but no complaining here! Warmer weather has meant more hours in the pool! Through the first month or so, we had a hard time getting the filter to always work and by the time August hit, it was too cold to swim. Now, our pool is close to about as warm as it was during the “heat” of the summer. Imagine that? Needless to say, we are it multiple times a day recently and are so thankful for a pool to cool off in! But we have done more this week, than just swim…
The pastor and his wife from one of our old churches were in town! She is actually FROM Zeeland, which means we get to see them a bit more often, which we just love! It was so SO good catching up! Mazy equally loved the time spent with them…she ran up to her with arms wide open and a HUGE hug! It was so so cute. She used to watch Mazy often when we were in Minnesota while I had an appointment or ran errands. A mentor and friend, back then and always now. So thankful for them! Oh, and she treated us to “Captain’s House” (as Mazy calls it…AKA Captain Sundae)
Mazy was so excited to go swimming! She also let me put a little pony tail in her hair (though hard to see), which I had to get a picture of!
Poolside and ready to swim!
All the swimming wore this girl out! She has been known to do some crazy things during naptime! This time, she had found her winter boots and decided her rocking chair was more comfortable than her bed!
Knowing that the doctors are trying to move up my surgery date, we have been trying to get as many house projects done as we can. Things that don’t necessarily need to be done, but would definitely be eyesores if we didn’t! We’ve been working on the bathroom and hope to finish it up this coming weekend!
Going to my niece’s soccer games has been something we have been looking forward to since we moved back. Mazy of course had more fun playing soccer with her cousin than watching the game, but hey, she has to learn how to play somehow, right?
Saturday was a scorcher, so a family pool party it was!
Last Monday it was Dan’s birthday, so he treated Mazy to breakfast out! Maybe a bit backwards, but it just shows how much he LOVES his daughter!
We are still waiting to hear from the surgeon’s office about an earlier surgery date, but we hope to find out this week. Last week was very up and down again with my fluid build up and then had low blood pressure, but just yesterday I told Dan I feel so so good right now. I am trying to remember these times knowing that after surgery and recovery, it will only be 10x better than this! I am just so so thankful for good and bad days actually because it’s the good days that keep pushing me forward. I still feel so well taken are of by the U of M and know that this will one day all be in the past!
