And the Results are In…

BRENDA IS PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pretty much can’t believe I just typed that!

BAAAHHH!!!

So here’s how it went down:
The clinic was going to call Brenda because she was the one having the blood test. Well, I was working today, so I told Dan that he could find out and then we could go to Tim and Brenda’s and then I could find out there. But Dan wanted to find out with me. So, I got out of work at 1:30 and we high-tailed it over to the Vriezema’s. I walked in the door and Brenda says “don’t know yet.” I honestly thought she was kidding. I had to double-check even. But she was serious.

So we sat and talked for awhile. Brenda called the office a few times, but no answer. Well, FINALLY at around 2:45, the office called and I just closed my eyes and held Dan’s hand. I opened my eyes and there sat Brenda with a huge smile on her face and a thumbs up. My heart RACED. I could not BELIEVE it, yet at the same time, I wasn’t surprised. I can now say this, Brenda told me how she was feeling yesterday and we both thought “okay God…” and I felt her stomach and I just knew. I came home and told Dan that “Brenda is pregnant.” I tried not to get too excited, but we all knew.

So anyways, got the phone call. Her level was at 49, which I guess was good. We aren’t sure what “good” is, but they said that was very good. So then they said the next hurdle will be on Friday when Brenda has another ultrasound to see if her numbers are going up. Then in a few weeks, she will have an ultrasound and see if there are one, or TWO hearts beating. Brenda got off the phone and we were off that couch in no time – hugs and laughter everywhere. I WISH EVERYONE COULD’VE BEEN FLIES ON THOSE WALLS. Jumping up and down, just laughing. Not that we didn’t believe God could do it, but to hear that the result was POSITIVE, was just so overwhelming. We quick let our family know and then Dan mass-texted (as well as Brenda I believe).

We took a few deep breaths and then just prayed. How do you put what just happened into words? Thank goodness God can understand our words b/c I am sure what I said did not make sense to the human ear. I just didn’t know what to say, but was just drawn to the memories of how far God has taken us. He has led us THIS far. 10 months ago, we were jumping hurdles. We are now 10 months further along and now PARENTS.

Wow, God!

So we celebrate. We continue to rejoice. We continue to pray. Thank you to all who have been lifting us up in prayer today! It has been the craziest day of our life! Can’t believe this is all happening and that we will hopefully 9ish months from now, hold our children in our arms.

PRAISE GOD!!! We are shouting it from the rooftops. This has NOTHING to do with US, but EVERYTHING TO DO WITH GOD. HE is the one who created and is sustaining those embryos. We have done nothing. What a humbling feeling that God would bless us in this way.
