You’re Doing Just Fine
No really, you are.
Do you ever question if you are doing a “good enough” job parenting? I ask myself this all the time. Like too often. So much so that I can convince myself that I’m not doing a good job. I know, it’s ridiculous.
Really though, the fact that I am even wondering this, says that maybe I’m doing alright. And I’m here to tell you…
You are doing just fine.
Does your child know they are loved? If you can answer yes to this, well, you are doing JUST fine.
I know I am only a mother to one here on earth, but being in youth ministry, we have seen the wide spectrum of raising a child. And first of all, there is NO “perfect” way. There isn’t. Trust me, I have to remind myself of this too. God does impart some wisdom through the Bible for parenting, but some of it is pretty open for us to parent in our own unique ways. It doesn’t say what time to put our kids to bed. What specific foods they should eat. What kind of mac ‘n cheese to buy. Where they should go to school. When you need to have your child potty trained by. Yet I spend my days constantly wondering if I’m doing everything “right.” Do you too?
God designed me uniquely. He designed me to be Mazy’s mom. In fact, He has given me every quality and tool I need to parent her. Nothing more and nothing less. But enough.
Do you believe that for your own life? That God has given you everything you need? And therefore, that you’re doing just fine? Don’t waste your time wondering if every decision is the “perfect” decision. Love your child. Love them with the love God has given you. And you’ll do just fine.
