God Is Still Working On Us
Yesterday I wrote/typed about a song that really made me think about who has influenced my life. Well, today I was doing my Bible study for the week and I came across this verse:
Hebrews 13:7 says: Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.
Isn’t that AWESOME what God can show you sometimes through His Word? I had no idea that verse was in the Bible until today and I think back to the song I referenced yesterday and it just all falls into place! Of course we are to follow Jesus first and foremost, but even the Bible mentions to consider those who have gone before us and who encourage us in their faith. To look up to them and think about how they evangelized – we are to do the same. We are blessed to have others who have gone before us, modeling what a life with Christ looks like – and most of all, we have Jesus Christ, the perfect model, who endured the temptation of sin, and bore the sins of us. I couldn’t wait to share this verse today!
I praise God today because God is still carefully working in us with regards to kids. Dan and I had some tough, but needed conversations yesterday. As much as we both wish this would all “pass,” it isn’t and will not for awhile and we are realizing that. This has effected so many parts of our life – parts we never even imagined. But God is faithful and continues to show us things that we need to tweak or work on. Right when I think I am “moving on” God says hold up, Kristin, I’m not done with you yet. It’s draining and almost frustrating at times, but it reminds me that God is working in us still – that He’s not done with us. I think I may have mentioned that I feel I am able to move on too, but God is probably up in heaven thinking whoa Kristin, not so fast :). Though I truly do feel that each obstacle Dan and I overcome, is part of the healing process and a moving forward process.
So I praise God because He continues to show Himself in all this and without Him, we would truly be lost. God works in miraculous ways and I can say it’s been a joy to see God working!
