Another Year of Life!

Today I am thankful because God has given me 27 years of life. I have had a good birthday, one of relaxation, reflection, and football. Dan is gone hunting til tomorrow, so tonight I decided to get my free medium pizza one topping (mushroom of course) from Papa Johns. Scrumptious. And watch football. Because I’ve had some time by myself today, I’ve been able to reflect on the past year and have hopes for what’s ahead.

I was given a very thoughtful gift today from a very dear friend of mine, called “Believe.” When I opened it, that’s the only thing on the cover – believe. Here are just a few things that really hit me. Believe there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. Believe you might be that light for someone else. Believe you are blessed. I was talking to Dan today and how our life is just plain different, and it’s hard to accept that. BUT. We are blessed. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. And we pray God will use us to further His kingdom, through our life.

I never imagined that my life would look like this at 27! I honestly thought we would have kids by now. I thought life would just be different. God has taken us on such a different path that we are still trying to work our way through the mountains so that we can come out and see what’s ahead of us.

I can say honestly that I am excited to see what God has in store for us next because I know it’s gotta be something amazing. I just can’t wait to see what that is. Everyday I live in anticipation to find out what that is because I’m ready for the grief and pain to go away. I’m ready for brand new days of renewed hope. I’m ready for days filled with laughter and joy instead of tears and heartache. I KNOW that day will come!

As I head into another year of life, I know God will bless us and use us, and I can’t wait to see what that all entails.
