Happy New Year! This past week and last week of Christmas break (I have to call it CHRISTMAS break and not “winter” break b/c otherwise Mazy doesn’t think she has to go back to school all winter) has been relaxing and filled with all things wonderful! Thankful to have another year to proclaim God’s goodness and faithfulness! Here’s what we’ve been up to?

While Mazy was hunting with Dan, this is the picture she randomly took while sitting in the blind. God’s majesty on display, to say the least:

On Sunday, Mazy wanted to have curly hair, so I put a few braids in her hair the night before, and she was absolutely thrilled with the results:

This girl LOVES to do puzzles, just like her mama!

Since we moved into our home 2 1/2 years ago, I have wanted to freshen up the hardwood floors. The carpet in our bedroom was quite stained, just from it being old, so it was needing to be replaced. Once we priced out carpet, we realized we could refinish the hardwood floor underneath, along with our dining and living room, for about the same price, as long as we did it ourselves. We are the type of people where we get a house project idea in our head, sit on it for a year or so, and then run with it. After pulling up the carpet, we knew first, it was time, but also, what a project ahead of us:

Some wood also needs to be replaced, along with a large portion in our dining room.

The gap between the base boards and the walls has driven me nuts (I’m a clean line girl), and so I tried my hand at caulking for the first time. I had an EXCELLENT teacher (my husband), and I fell in love with caulking! Who knew it would be so fun, so rewarding, and worth every minute of time doing it!

So we will be busy the next few weeks, with this project, but we are excited and HOPE it’s worth the effort!

I have an appointment today in Ann Arbor for my heart failure and also to receive a 12-lead holter monitor, to see where my PVC burden is, after my ablation. We are hoping it is less, so that I don’t have to go through another ablation. The ole ticker isn’t a huge fan of the procedure, as it always takes a bit to recover! Then on Wednesday, Mazy will be getting her adenoids out and tubes put in. She’s not looking super forward to it, but we are hoping this greatly increases her hearing and prevents her from getting more ear infections!
