Celebrating 9 Years Of Wedded Bliss!
Today is our 9 year anniversary!
Hard to believe that it has been NINE YEARS since we got married, but those years have sure been a thrill ride!
When Dan and I sit back and think about the past 9 years, we never thought that we would walk the journey we have, but it is not a mistake. At our wedding, we had the song “Walk By Faith” by Jeremy Camp sung, and little did we know, how that song would still be something we believe in – 9 years later.
The idea of walking by faith sure is beautiful, isn’t it? Thinking that we will walk by faith, even when we can’t see, is one of those things as Christians, when you think about the Christian life and walk, is something to achieve. If you think of someone who “walks by faith”, you admire and appreciate them all the more. I think about those in my life, who walk by faith, and boy am I encouraged to walk all the harder in faith!
Yet walking by faith is something that you never really “arrive” at I feel because there are always circumstances that challenge you to continue in that walk. You never are fully done, walking by faith. It’s a journey.
And that is something Dan and I have learned and continue to learn. We are not done yet. We have SO far to go when it comes to walking by faith. I’d love to sit here and say that after our experiences in life, that we are faith-walkers, but we sure fail. There are times when we get frustrated. When we cry out to God. When we wonder why. Not that we question our own faith, but we question the faith that we put in God – is He REALLY going to hold true to His promises? Is He REALLY going to live up to them? That is something that we are daily challenged with. But it is our choice whether or not we are going to believe in them. Believe in Him.
And that is where faith comes in.
Faith that He will sustain. That He is trustworthy. That He is constantly working for OUR GOOD.
Faith is a journey and it is something that we have a whole lot to learn about yet! Though this journey has been completely worth it! The past 9 years with Dan, have been more than I ever dreamed. I couldn’t be more thankful for them – even the most difficult of ones. I remember wondering how love can grow even MORE, after the wedding. After 5 years of marriage. After 8. Well, after 9, our love continues to still grow. It is unexplainable, but it’s because love is not something created by humans. It is a gift from God. And gifts from God sometimes come with no words.
I can’t wait to see what the next 9 and 99 years look like with this man! Dan has taught me so much about faith, love, and grace. I am far from perfect and boy, Dan sure puts up with a lot! So thanks for sticking with me and for putting up with my craziness!
We hope next year to take a special 10 year anniversary trip. Honestly, we will probably end up in the Florida Keys again, as that has become “our place”, but we will see. So much fun to dream – planning and dreaming is some of the bests of a trip! So the dreaming continues…
