GIVEAWAY: Devotional – Catching Whimsy

You may have heard me talk about one of my favorite authors, Bob Goff, before. Every time he writes a book, I either buy it or get it from the library. In fact, I have read every single one of his books (minus some of the kid’s versions)! Here are the ones I’ve read (I think the only one I didn’t read was the Love Does For Kids):

There is something about his writing style that hooks me every time. And I get disappointed when I finish the last page because I’m never ready for it to be done! Ever have that? He is a Christian, non-fiction writer that has seriously INSANE stories to tell. They will leave you with your jaw dropped, laughing, and yet walking away with a growth moment because of his ability to find God-applications for any situation in life!

And believe it or not, I’ve actually met Bob Goff! I’m embarrassed to say this, but I actually didn’t even know who he was when I met him about 6 years ago. A dear friend invited me to hear him speak at a GEMS conference in Grand Rapids. She was flying in from Minnesota, so we went to the banquet together. She told me that we could get there a little early to grab punch…yeah, didn’t realize we would MEET HIM! If you’ve read his books, everything happened as one would expect. My friend and I sat down at a little table and he came over, pulled up a chair, and asked how we knew each other. Okay, so typically the people in the room would be the ones waiting to talk to him – no, he came up to us. It was like we knew him for years! I was so nervous, but I mean, how can you not love a guy who lives and loves with his arms literally wide open and the biggest smile on his face?

I have to chuckle because in this picture, he doesn’t have a hat on. I was trying to figure out why he looked so different and he doesn’t have his token ball cap on! If you were to look him up online, you’ll see what I’m talking about.

Well, ever since meeting and hearing him speak, I can’t get enough of his books and encouragement on social media. Like I said, I’ve read almost all of his books, have given several away as gifts, and now I want to do a giveaway for YOU!

Bob recently wrote a devotional called “Catching Whimsy” and I want to give one copy of this book away! Even though the entries are shorter, there is always a thought-provoking idea that sticks with me the rest of the day. Sometimes it’s easy to read a devotional and walk away not really knowing what you’re supposed to remember. Well, you don’t have to worry about that with this book! You won’t forget.

And I’m already dreading the day when I complete it on December 31!
