Our Trip To Beaver Island
Back to reality!
We spent the past week with Dan’s family, on Beaver Island. It was a great week exploring all that Beaver Island has to offer, but most of all, spending time together as a family! Unfortunately it rained every single day at some point, except one, with most days being pretty wet. Nevertheless, we still made the most of it by walking to town, jumping and splashing in puddles, and still walking the beautiful beaches of Lake Michigan!
It was a bit interesting packing for a trip after just unpacking, but it was a much needed time away, a break from the projects, and time to just relax. No matter what the weather, God’s creation is still beautiful!
Here’s what our week looked like:
A ferry (or plane) is needed to get to Beaver Island, and this is the boat we took! We left from Charlevoix and took the 2 hour ferry ride to the island.
Miss Mazy absolutely loved riding on the boat!
Our first few glimpses of Beaver Island!
Mazy couldn’t get enough of the “water beach” as she called it. From finding fuzzies (feathers) to throwing rocks in the lake, she loved it all!
Dan did some fishing off the shore, with not much luck
And of course, one of Mazy’s favorite parts was playing with her cousins!
Oh how we missed Lake Michigan!
Believe it or not, this is a toy store! It looks rather creepy from the outside and is a bit claustrophobic on the inside, but what a fun little store!
The Kid Crew
Naps weren’t always the easiest to take, but she crashed, she CRASHED
Grandma had a fun idea to make campfire cookies!
What most of the roads look like on Beaver Island! I felt I was in a commercial
Taking pics looking into the sun wasn’t the most brilliant idea, but it was a picture worthy moment! This is on French Bay, which ended up being quite the trail, full of mud, puddles, and wild raspberries
Dan definitely had the right idea wading out a ways. He caught a smallmouth bass while Tom, Zach, and I spent our time getting a nasty slime off our lines
I’m telling you, our girl just LOVED the water!
And oh does she love her daddy!
This girl has got STYLE
On one of the only nice days, we spent the afternoon at a local beach and of course Mazy found the slides!
Our adorable beach babe!
Saying bye to Grandpa and Grandma
Dan, his brothers, and Dad, all went on a plane ride around the various islands near Beaver Island
Mazy just loving all the love she is given!
Couldn’t be more thankful for our little family!
What a great week of spending time TOGETHER and just enjoying all the beauty and majesty that God shows to us through His creation!
I have to admit, I missed blogging this past week! I am eager to dive back into it!
Now to unpack and get settled even more so…
Looks like you had a great time on your trip! Love seeing Pics of Miss Mazy! Love and hugs to you two!
