A Good God
I am writing this post on election day, not knowing what the results will be, though decided to post it today.
I write this on election day because one thing I know is certain. Is that from day to day, God’s rule and sovereignty do not change. I think it is an incredible privilege to vote. To know that it is in the archives of our nation, the duty of a citizen, to vote. I often am a bit oblivious to what and whom is all involved, but I consider it this day, to be a privilege.
But let me go back to what I said in the first place – that no matter what happens, and in this case, what has already happened, God is in control. God has given us the freedom to vote, but that does not negate the fact that HE still is in control. He allows what He does, for a reason, and He gives us the privilege of participating in the process. But we must remember that at NO point, is He ever not a “good” God. I think we can so easily equate “good” with happy and things going our way. But I have learned quickly that God IS a good God, even in the toughest times in life. His goodness never diminishes. He never becomes more good or less good. As the ole saying goes, “God is good all the time and all the time, God is good.”
Do you really believe that? I know sometimes my trust can waiver a bit. But truly, we serve a God who’s reign is over every square inch of this earth. At no time does God not know what is going on. He always knows. He always cares. He’s always there. And indeed, He is a good God.
So no matter what has happened, we can still entrust our lives to THE King, pray for God to continue to redeem this broken earth, and ask for His Son to come, to rescue us from the bondage we have here on earth, because of sin. Let true freedom reign, thanks to our Heavenly Father! Thanks to our good, good God!
