Around Our Home

I am such a homebody. I love the days when Mazers and I just cook, bake, read, play, talk, dance, and just live life TOGETHER. If someone walked into our home, I am sure they would wonder who in the world this crazy lady is, but all I know is that Mazy loves it. That smile makes it all worth it!

We were running low on baby food, so I decided to stock up on vegetables and fruit from Aldi. I love to make my own baby food. For some reason it feeds into my desire to one day homestead (though I highly doubt that will ever happen). In the meantime, I will just live life as close to that idea as I can.

Did I ever mention how amazing my husband is? He offered to watch Mazy for a night, while I got away by myself. I cannot even begin to tell you how refreshing and rejuvenating that was! I highly recommend this for any mom. I got a room at a hotel about 45 minutes away, did some Christmas shopping, read a book, saw a movie (yes, by myself), ate my supper while it was hot, grabbed a cup of coffee at a local shop, and just relaxed. Those 24 hours were such a gift! And thanks to my husband for making it possible. We do not live by our parents, so getting away becomes a little more difficult, but again, Dan made it possible. We do not go out to eat very often because first of all, it isn’t cheap, but also we fear Mazy not doing well in a restaurant. Though all of the times we have (about 3), she has done AWESOME. All we had to do was give her a menu to look at and she was entertained for quite some time! I just can’t get over how cute she is sometimes!

This is how I spend my Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays – hanging out with this cutie! Everyday, we try to go for a long walk (while she talks to the trees and leaves), read books, nap (for Mazy that is), cook or bake something, and play. She also loves to listen to the piano, so I try my hand at that, though if she is tone deaf one day, I will take the blame for it!

More baby food made – this time, pears and apples!

Our friends have a dog and needed us to let her out quick, so I decided to take full advantage of the opportunity and let Mazy play with her puppy for awhile. She just adores dogs – whether stuffed or live!

If you have ever wondered what Minnesota (at least where we live) looks like in the fall, here is a glimpse. Open fields, the crop harvested, and roads that go for miles and miles, and miles. There is something to be said about the open country!

As Halloween approached, we debated whether or not to get a costume for Mazy because we do not have any grandparents or cousins in town to bring her to.

It then hit me that we had been waiting years and years to buy a cute costume for our child someday. When we were at Wal-Mart one night, we saw this bear costume that we just couldn’t pass up! It was a 12-18 month costume, but we didn’t care.

Just look at that cute face…and now you see why we just couldn’t say no!
