Around The Home
It has been a rainy week in Minnesota this week, which meant finding new and creative things to do in the house! Though despite the rain, it still didn’t stop us from going outside. This week we did some more packing and cleaning. My goal in packing is to clean everything as we put it in the box, like dust off picture frames, clean the outside of the coffee and bread makers, etc. Even though I don’t feel like we have THAT much stuff, once you try to shove it into boxes, it’s amazing how quickly they stack up!
It just boggles my mind that I can now say we are moving NEXT WEEK, only because so much has to happen before then! Though we feel we have enough time and that things are progressing as they should. We closed on our home in Zeeland this past week, which was a GREAT feeling! Hopefully this coming weekend our family can get into it and take a look at what all needs to be done. We still are just so humbled that we got that house – it still puts us in awe!
This past week was filled with a few more “lasts,” but we know they are meant to be. They are emotional, but they are good, right, and just a piece of closing one chapter and opening a new one.
This past week was the last official youth group at the Rock. There were tears, but also lots of laughter! Dan and one of our youth group leaders, Trapper, had a running score against two of our youth group kids, who are now seniors. Here’s a picture of the last matchup:
Needless to say, Dan and Trapper have some catching up to do…
Last youth group at the Rock!
After youth group Applebee’s run!
Last time putting in docks with this crew! It was rather memorable, being about 40 degrees air temp with whitecaps on the lake!
Why use a chair to watch a show, to quiet down before bedtime, when you have a tricycle?
It was hard to take this girl seriously when she has a Lisa Frank sticker with bright pink lips on it, on the side of her face!
Learning to do watercolor painting!
But the best part was sticking our fingers in the water!
When you can’t go to the park to go down the slide, due to the rain, we use mommy’s long legs!
And why not use mommy’s shoulder as a chair too, right? How can I say no to that adorable face?
LOVE THIS GIRL!!!
AND THAT SMILE!!!
We have quite the cook on our hands…nothing like a supreme slice of pizza!
This week we watch our seniors graduate, attend many open houses, finish up things around the house, and pack, pack, pack! The to-do list sometimes seems to be getting longer instead of shorter, but the more we do now, the less we have to do the week of (hopefully). Feeling so thankful for just the moment of life we are in, even though the goodbyes are tough. We feel an incredible amount of peace, that clearly only God can give!
