Around the Home
Do you ever have it when you know it’s going to be a busy week, though you don’t want to rush it away, but you are thankful to have made it through? That has been this past week. I knew it was going to be crazy (hence my lack of blog posts this past week), but in every way, a GOOD crazy. I had a speaking engagement in Caledonia, which was such a blessing to me. To hear other’s stories and other’s hearts, is exactly why I am humbled to share the story God has given me. It opens the door and God opens the hearts of others. And we can share this common bond of not fully understanding why God has allowed all that he has, but his purposes are far greater than we could ever imagine!
I also hosted an Usborne book Facebook party and what a fun time! I still love their books, being that they are some of Mazy’s favorites, still to this day!
Dan and I also prepared for our annual youth group fundraiser dinner this past Saturday. I LOVE doing it, as long as I have the time to plan and prep for it all. I have always enjoyed making food for people, even though I wouldn’t say it’s my first gift in life, but there is something about seeing others gathered around a table, eating together. I grew up doing this very thing – spending quality time with my family around the dinner table. And to see our congregation gathering around a meal, just brings the warm fuzzies. To me, it’s what heaven will be like. It was nice to have last year under my belt, which made this year SO much easier! Surely couldn’t have done it without the help, that’s for sure! Since it’s fresh on my mind, it makes me want to start preparing for next year’s dinner!
And not to mention, we’ve got these 2 sweet pups, who sure take up a lot of time, but every minute, so worth it! We are still working on the whole potty training with our pup, Maggie, and oh she’s got a stubborn little personality, but it couldn’t be sweeter. She loves Mazy with her licking kisses, and her gentle and kind love towards her. These pictures will explain it all…
Not a real clear picture, but they say dogs take after their owners…indeed this is what a goodnight’s sleep looks like:
Table decorations for the dinner:
Mazy walks around saying, “Maggie’s my girl!” It’s fairly evident…
And sweet Millie…
Snuggle time!
This week is a bit slower, but also means it’s a week to catch up on the other things I have neglected. Thankful for the ebb and flow of life, with weeks of more rest and weeks with the crazy and all. God always provides just what we need, doesn’t he?
