Around the Home
It is no surprise to any of you, that this has been a unique week. I have never imagined spending as much time as I have at home. Granted after my open heart surgeries, I didn’t leave the house for awhile then either, but this scenario is a whole different story. One that’ll be etched in our memories forever, the history books, and really, for a lifetime. Though maybe in a strange way, I have loved it. Am I an “at risk” person for the coronavirus? I am, but it doesn’t change the fact of what I believe to be true about God.
So this past week, despite having to practice social distancing and staying home when we can, we made sure to take advantage of this slower pace of life, and enjoy it outdoors. God has given us this beautiful world FOR US and for His glory, so why not enjoy it? It has allowed me to take to heart the saying, “Love where you live…” and live it to the fullest. Nothing fancy. Nothing earth-shattering. In fact, a reminder to myself that this is really how life should be. Spent together.
Going to Lake Michigan to take a walk, check out the waves, and test our quickness. Who could get the closest to the water without getting their feet wet…
Taking a little hike at the Upper Macatawa Natural Area. Not going to lie…it was COLD.
So we decided to come home and make Christmas cookies. Why not?
And another hike…it’s the one thing we feel we have so much freedom in – God’s creation!
Taking a walk at Grand Haven State Park…and again, it was COLD!
And a hike with cousins!
It’s surreal to think that this could be life for the next few weeks, and I’m sure we will get sick of it, but until then, we are going to try and make the most of it! We have had PLENTY of tears as Mazy adjusts to this new way of life, and it hasn’t always been easy, but this will be a moment in time! And it will pass away, and it’ll just be a memory, one day. Until then, let’s make the most of it!
