Around the Home
Not much by way of introduction, since we’ve kinda got the same ‘ole, same ‘ole, going on! So here goes…
Mazy got some face paint from the dollar store and so she had to give it a try. You can tell someone was ecstatic about it and someone else was not:
Mazy’s school had a class parade this week, where the teachers lined the bus drop off, holding signs, and where parents could drive their kiddos through. Like a parade! Mazy made a sign for each of her teachers/assistants (the other 2 were taped to the side of the van), and as you can tell, she LOVED it. Side note: I just adore little kids’ handwriting!
Mazy has REALLY missed her teachers during this time and so I’m pretty sure she had a permanent smile on her face. It meant so so much to her, to see them. It was that closure she was needing – and yes, even little preschoolers need it too:
Dan and I have been working on some big projects. One of them being painting the inside of our pool. All I have to say, that’s a LOT of water to drain out! We pressure-washed it and you can see how much flaked off, which was good! What Dan is standing in with Mazy is NASTY water…the cover fell off while we were doing concrete and a whole bunch of nast blew in and that’s what was left:
Painting the bottom! When that pool is empty, it seems HUGE! Granted I think it’s 8 or 9 feet deep, but it sure felt gigantic. So our pool was built in the 1970s, which is CRAZY to think about! It has a concrete bottom, which is wonderful because not much can really happen to it, outside of needing to paint it. And then the walls are fiberglass. This type of pool is called a hybrid and after doing much research, it’s a bit of a one-of-a-kind! We NEVER dreamed of having a pool in our backyard, that’s for sure. But during some crazy times in our life, this pool has been an oasis, especially when I didn’t feel well enough to go anywhere else! God knew…
We are also scraping and painting an old farmhouse and Mazy loves to come to the house and find “treasures” (see the pile to her right):
Welp, that’s about it! Again, not much going on. Hope everyone is staying healthy!
