Around the Home
It is the most wonderful time of the year! We are now out of quarantine and we sure tried to live up the last of it to the fullest! Of course we couldn’t be around people, but we could enjoy the outdoors, the beautiful creation God has given us! Quarantine sure taught us a lot, but one of the things we continued to thank God for the most about, was time together. Was it always easy, no, but we sure found creative ways to help pass the time, while enjoying each other’s company.
We checked out a reverse parade where you drive by the floats instead, and Mazy thought it was a hoot!
Another place we could safely go was the beach, so one day Mazy and I walked the water’s edge, looking for treasures!
There were supposed to be LOTS of shooting stars one night, so we had a family date night on our back porch! We wrapped up in a sleeping bag, snuggled up together, and caught a glimpse of a few, including numerous satellites:
Another place we could “safely” go was the airport viewing area, once of Mazy’s favorite places to visit:
And one of the best parts is rolling down the hill to the fence while waiting for the next plane…
One of our favorite activities to do as a family is to drive around looking at Christmas lights. Friday night we decided to drive to downtown Grand Rapids and check out the displays there! Even though it was raining, we still had a blast oooing and ahhing at them all. Then we drove around East Grand Rapids, and it did not disappoint!
Of course our furry family member had to come along too…
Mazy wanted to help paint the basement walls with me, and as you can see, Maggie got in on the action as well:
Mazy’s latest request is butter, cheese, and some type of chip on a sandwich. Well, we didn’t have any chips, so she asked for goldfish instead…whatever, my dear:
Saturday afternoon I attended Mazy’s hair salon:
Another favorite family tradition is making Christmas cookies…I’m sure more frosting and dough landed in our bellies than needed, but that’s part of the process, right?
We are all healthy once again, and couldn’t be more thankful for God’s provision through it all!
