Around the Home
Whew, here we are! Excited to jump back on this blog and start pushing these keys again. So much to share, so much on my mind, and so much on my heart. Before I get posting, I want share what’s been going on in our life:
We made a weekend trip out to Minnesota for a wedding, and what a PERFECT weekend it was. When I think of Minnesota (granted we’ve lived there), but I think of the movie “New in Town”. One of my FAVORITE movies because even though some stereotypes are exaggerated, it quite honestly, is pretty spot on. This was the “stone” that Mazy couldn’t WAIT to see:
And lo and behold, there was a winter storm that dumped a WHOLE lot of snow the day after we arrived! That meant a day with our friends, enjoying the warmth of friendship, while watching a blizzard outside:
Kudos to the guy on the left for taking those kiddos out in the middle of the blizzard! Squinty eyes and all because it was snowing and blowing that hard:
If this is how you picture Minnesota, well, you are spot on:
I’d love to say we cheer for the Lions, but we will always have a bit of “Viking” in us:
And if you think of Minnesota as being really cold, well, you are also spot on. -9 was the actual temperature the next morning:
And if you think about icehouses on the lakes…you are also correct:
We went tubing with our youth group last weekend, and even though it was cold by Michigan standards, we still made the most of it:
So proud of this girl…she is very hesitant to try something new, but by the end, she was going up the magic carpet all by herself AND going down the hill without us!
And this year, there were no rules about how many could go down the hill at once. That meant our whole youth group could go down as one big blob:
Since the Olympics have started (which yes, we are OBSESSED with them), that meant we had to pull out the cross country skis too:
I’ve had a lot of questions about how I’m feeling and where the “heart stuff” is at, which I plan to share a post. We are just thankful for a fairly uneventful past few weeks and are currently thankful for the mundane!
Sounds like you know how to make fun out of every situation. Wish you could have stopped in Prinsburg. I bet you had a tight schedule!
Yes! We were only in Prinsburg for the wedding that afternoon, but hopefully next time we are out, we can spend more time there! I think we could spend a month out there and it’d still not be enough time!
