Around The Home
We have been keeping ourselves busy, by choice, this past week! We are DONE with all of the house projects we wanted to get done before surgery, which we are really excited about. We first thought we had until November 30 to finish them, but with surgery thankfully being moved up to this Friday, we wanted to still get them done, being that one of them was our bedroom, where I anticipate spending a lot of time after I get home. The bathroom project we didn’t anticipate doing so soon, but we found black mold behind the shower, and knew we should take care of that ASAP. All part of having an old house, which we totally understood, but wanted to take care of it. Our bedroom wasn’t a necessity, but the good man I am married to, didn’t want me to be staring at the walls and ceiling, thinking about what needed to be done, while recovering. And the most awesome thing was that we had gift cards to cover almost every single thing, except a gallon of paint that was 40% off! And now I can lay there, staring up, looking at a masterpiece. Dan is quite the handyman!
This coming week we plan to just prepare the best we can for Friday and the weeks after, be in prayer that we do not get sick, but also try to still live life the best we can. I could quarantine myself, which of course I don’t plan on licking a shopping cart, but we want to enjoy life too. Don’t tell Mazy, but her flu shot is scheduled at 6:40am on Tuesday, which I know she will just love! Then on Thursday, we leave for Ann Arbor, where we plan to spend the night, being that I have to report for surgery at 8:30am Friday morning. Surgery isn’t until 2:40, but we are hoping I can get in before that (I keep thinking that that’s a long time to not eat lol!) Ironically, I actually have not had much of an appetite, which for me that is unheard of, but I’m sure that’ll change a month after surgery!
Without further ado, here’s what our past week has looked like in pictures!
Naptime again, at it’s best! This time the mattress isn’t even in the bed!
Mazy even put on a swimming diaper for extra protection during that “nap”
Mazy and her CHEETOS (as she calls them!) That’s a way to her heart!
Working on the bedroom!
Boxes never get old!
Since mommy has to go to the bathroom ALL the time, thanks to my diuretics and a failing heart, Mazy tells me that baby does too. She had to change baby’s diaper because she was wet, I was told. What a caring girl!
I just never get sick of taking pictures with this girl!
Ever since we got this book from the library over a month ago, she has wanted to get it back. Well, someone else had taken it out, so every day I have been looking to see if it was back in. Sure enough, on Saturday it was back! Really, I should just buy it, but maybe later!
Dan plans to do updates as he is able right here on the blog and also via Facebook, the day of surgery and after. We decided that instead of doing a Caring Bridge site, this would be easier.
