Around The Home
Now that the Olympics are done, I find myself to be a bit more motivated to do house projects! The weather outside the past week was incredible. The sun shining on our faces felt so good and we even had a few picnics outside! Thankfully Mazy loves to be outside just as much as we do, so it was no problem getting her out there! Here’s what our week has looked like:
It was bright enough to have to put our sunglasses on!
Dan is turning Mazy into our little hunter! “Noculars” (as Mazy calls them) and all!
She’s got the whole goose call thing down too!
We worked on our upstairs middle room Mazy wanted to join in on the action with the drywall dust!
Rolling the ceiling was a great endurance builder for me! Whew!
Even though it was a tad chilly yet, we made it to the park!
Painting the walls (edges here) in the middle room – Repose Gray (Sherwin Williams – 7015). It is a shade lighter than the gray in our dining room and kitchen. It’s a subtle color, but LOVE how it turned out! Can’t wait to now organized that room into a play room!
Mazy takes finger painting to a whole new level!
Slime Time…
Mazy was playing with Dan’s pinewood derby car and she needed to inflate the tires with a cell phone car charger. Smart girl! And if you didn’t notice, she turned on the headlamp for some light…
Helping mommy make some batter for homemade waffles!
How can it be March already? Only 3 weeks left of rehab, which I know it will be bittersweet, but I am ready to gain 3 mornings back in my week! Plus, the weather is getting nice outside so I can walk more easily out there and get the fresh air! AND…I am officially done taking my coumadin (blood thinner)! I am THRILLED! It was kind of a pain to be on to be completely honest, but I no longer have to worry about being on that medication. To think that if I had gotten a mechanical valve, that I’d have to be on it the rest of my life, I would very much dislike that. Thankful this week to say goodbye to one more medication!
This week we plan to finish up fixing up the bathroom upstairs (it pretty tiny with just a toilet and sink). I am very impressed with my husband though…he put in a canned light, light switch, and outlet, when he hadn’t done much with electrical before! And he’s still alive! Proud of that guy! It has been so fun to make this house our home!
And one more thing…
We are really speeding up on the book process! We just set it off to a dear friend to edit it, so after the changes are made, we will be close to setting it up to have self-published! Self-publishing is a lot of work at first, just to figure out what needs to be done, but now that I’m gaining the hang of it, I’m not sure this will be the only book I ever write. Not anytime soon, especially since the first one is still in the making, but I don’t think I’m done! I am just so thankful to everyone who has encouraged us to pursue writing a book and now to see it come to life, is incredibly humbling! No official publishing date yet, but we still hope for it to be this year! Stay tuned…
Hope you all have a wonderful week!
