Around The Home
Where did the week go? I actually very much dislike saying that because at times that can mean a week goes by without me being intentional or living in the moment. If a week goes by and I wonder where it went, it can mean it went by without me being thankful for all that it entailed. Though in looking back through these pictures, it made me realize we thoroughly enjoyed our week and I though it went by fast, it was filled with much fun and much accomplished! Here’s a glimpse…
I believe this is when Mazy and I were having a picnic outside…it was a tad chilly…
Our favorite ice cream store opened the week before and even though there was a bitter cold wind that day, we decided to make our first trip of the season. And we took the ice cream home to eat it in the warmth of our home!
Mazy loves to play doctor. This kiddo has maybe tagged along with me a few too many times to get my blood drawn! She wanted me to get the cotton balls out. Meanwhile, she got some Scotch tape. She took a cotton ball and put a piece of Scotch tape over an owie I had. Smart, smart girl! Just like they do at the hospital!
Mazy wanted to take her little “friends” on a walk, so she pulled them in her wagon. Don’t let this picture fool you though, this walk ended in an epic fail! Halfway through, she wanted to keep going, but I knew physically I couldn’t. So I turned for home and she SCREAMED and SCREAMED the whole way home, ensuring the whole town of Zeeland heard her! Needless to say, we didn’t go on another walk that day…
We decided to work on the bathroom upstairs. We know that when we start a project, we go full force until it’s done! Dan moved the light that used to be above the hole in the wall there and put in a canned light. He also put in an outlet and light switch, that Mazy will be able to reach. Since we moved the light, we decided to just paint in there too, while we were at it!
The PBS app now has Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood on it! Mazy loves the one were there is a jazz band. We told her I still had my trumpet, so everyday she puts on a concert for us. Who doesn’t love Mr. Rogers? It has been a great walk down memory lane! And now watching Daniel Tiger…wow, TV has sure come a long way!
Mazy and her friend have so much fun going to the library on Wednesdays! Now it’s silly sensory time and oh the fun they have!
One morning, Mazy was eager to get life going, so at 8:11 a.m., we found ourselves making homemade play doh!
Speaking of projects, after we finished the bathroom, we tackled the stairway, removing wallpaper. Mazy sure enjoys peeling wallpaper, which I have to say, a small part of it is therapeutic! Oh the odd things our children get from us!
On Friday we got a couple inches of snow, so on Saturday Mazy wanted to scoop it. Really she just moved it from one place to another, but she sure knows how to do it! Put that foot up on the edge to get the shovel to go in deeper…you got it girl!
Mazy is usually pretty good about taking naps, but then some days a nap just doesn’t happen. She ends up being too creative in her room (which is just fine), but that means she gets QUITE tired by nighttime! Just a few minutes into snuggling with daddy and she was OUT. Cold.
Such a honey!
Only 2 weeks left of rehab! I can’t believe that’s all that is left, but like I keep saying, it’s been SO GOOD.
We will also have a 3 YEAR OLD in our house next Saturday! Mazy’s birthday is this week and we can’t wait to celebrate this sweet girl! God has used her to bring more joy, healing, and life to our lives – more than we could ever have imagined!
