Around The Home
I had to chuckle a bit when I typed the name of my normal Monday posts – Around The Home. Really, I should’ve called it Around The Hospital! If you’ve been keeping up to date with the posts, you have noticed that we spent the week at the University of Michigan, for issues with my heart. We are now home, but things still aren’t as they should be. It has been a tough weekend with feeling so exhausted, feeling some palpitations, and just not having the energy to do much. But, thankfully at nighttime I feel a bit better (probably b/c my meds are worn off) and can enjoy those few hours before bedtime.
We are hoping this week will bring a regulation of meds and my body responding to them well. I am supposed to go back again to Michigan for a follow up, more testing, blood work, and to ensure I am handling the changes okay. Needless to say, I am eager to get everything back to normal. This has been a bit draining and is starting to try my patience, but I keep telling myself that this is temporary and this too shall pass! Having the right frame of mind can make all the difference!
It was SO incredibly good to see Mazy on Saturday! Oh did we miss her! She was with Dan’s parents for the week and oh did she have fun! She came home with lots of stories to tell. So, here are some pictures other pictures from the week that I haven’t shared yet:
Mazy doing crafts with Grandma. One of Mazy’s most favorite things to do is paint. We paint multiple times a day at our house, so I was glad to see she got her painting in!
So at my in-laws, they always have a bird that builds a nest right by their front door. I mean birds have been doing that for YEARS. Well, it just so happened that the eggs hatched and Mazy could watch the mama feed the little birdies. Well, she now likes to mimic what the little birdies do. Cracks me up every time:
Mazy was exhausted Saturday night after a long week of playing and now being back home:
I had the most AMAZING surprise come to me while I was at the hospital! First of all, our friends Brian and Rachel came to visit us at Michigan, and apparently Dan told them that the proof copy of our book was supposed to come in the mail while we were gone. Unbeknownst to me, my friend over-nighted the proof copy to me, so I received it on Friday! I was shocked when I all of a sudden saw a package and had a first glimpse at our book! Brought tears to my eyes! I will eventually share what the cover looks like, but I first want to get my health under control before I share all about the book coming out. It was such a generous gesture to send it to me. Plus, then I had something to do Friday and Saturday while waiting to go home!
Hopefully this week does not consist of any hospital stays, though I know things aren’t quite right yet. We are hoping it can all be handled as an outpatient, but we know that it is not in our hands, and I cannot control how my heart reacts. Oh how I wish I could just take a Tylenol to make it all go away, but like I said earlier, this too shall pass. Just keep praying that I will find relief from my symptoms soon and that God will heal my heart quickly!
