Around The Home
Do you ever feel like the summer days just fly by, but you could not pack in any more fun? That is so how I feel about this summer. Last summer was overshadowed with house projects and me not feeling well, but this summer we have minimized our house projects, and I am feeling pretty good. For the most part.
Have you ever had the thought that “this is just how life is supposed to be?” I mean we live in the cutest little town, we have our dream home, we have a pool that we swim in on the daily, we are a family of 3, we are surrounded by our families (within driving distance to them all), and we LOVE our church? I could keep going, but truly, we feel so blessed! We definitely live life on our toes, since we’ve been “surprised” a few times by life’s twists and turns, but boy, when you really sit back and think about all the ways God has blessed us, we are brought to our knees!
So with all that said, here’s what our week has looked like:
On Monday, Mazy and I headed to the beach, since it was SUCH a beautiful day! We (I) like to go in the morning when it’s a bit quieter and the sun isn’t burning the sand. As you can see, she went all in and LOVED it!
Part of my weekly routine is getting blood draws. Unfortunately my body is still retaining quite a bit of fluid, which doesn’t always make life easy, but as I keep telling myself, I am not in the hospital and I can still live my life! It’s not ideal, but considering where I was 8 months ago, I am content. Of course I do sometimes dream of what it would’ve been like to have that first surgery work and be living a healthy life, but that is not what God has planned for us! He’s got a much BIGGER plan and we are just going to keep trusting forward!
Dan built a little fire pit behind our garage, so we decided to enjoy it for once!
My two cuties!
Our mornings are filled with snuggles and smiles! Love mornings like these! With a touch of crazy in them…
Mazy loves to help me in the kitchen (see my previous post, Kids In The Kitchen) so here she is, helping me string on the veggies for kabobs!
Beautiful weather calls for another beach day! Okay, this time it was a tad chillier, hence the coat!
I just love when this happens: so this past week, I realized Mazy’s tennis shoes were getting too small. I went online to see what I could find, and found that they cost more than what I’d pay for a pair for myself, on the children’s clothing websites. I thought about hitting up a thrift store, but those can be so hit and miss. Well, then I was at Aldi, and lo and behold, they had children’s Paw Patrol light up shoes on sale! That was definitely a SCORE and Mazy was clearly ecstatic!
Mazy loves going to the farm and “feeding the cows.” The cows are pretty timid, but Mazy thinks they are her best friends, so I let her go for it! I think 1 out 20 attempts she had one snag a piece of hay, but boy did that make her day!
Just not QUITE tall enough…
Blueberry picking day! So grateful to sneak this activity in with a friend, before the rain started! This was a first for Mazy and she was a natural! I had to chuckle though…everyone who drove up with kids, you can hear them say “Now don’t pick the red or green ones. Only the blue ones!” If I had a dollar for every time that was said…LOL!
She sure is a cute blueberry picker!
And to top it all off…a little sass! Mazy had to put on her “tap shoes” (as she calls her black Sunday shoes that don’t fit her anymore), and take her dog for a walk. You’d think we live in some ritzy area with the way she had to get all dolled up for this event! Oh I just LOVE that girl!
And to keep it real, though I did not take pictures of these happenings, we also had moments where we had to leave stores because of temper tantrums. I thought about getting a snapshot of one, but wasn’t sure that would be fair to Mazy. Even though I show pictures of all the fun and blissful moments, we do have our moments too! We definitely have a 3 year old in the house, but BOY is she adorable and BOY can she have attitude, but BOY is she worth every moment! Guy we love that little sweetheart more than words could ever say!
