Around The Home
I don’t know about you, but I just love summer! The no schedule, the beautiful weather, the trips, the fun, oh, just all of it! This summer has just been such a blessing, considering what has all occurred in the past year! To just be able to enjoy it is such a gift. To be able to do what we are doing, what a humbling realization.
We’ve definitely had our fair share of fun the past two weeks. In fact, we just got back from a short trip with Dan’s parents to Beaver Island, Michigan! Pictures coming soon! Before we left on Saturday, we had such a fun week, filled with MANY activities. Mazy is at an age where she sees life with such excitement and wonder, and it makes me want to see life in the same way as her. Here’s a glimpse at our adventures last week:
Visiting Mazy’s cousins at the Ottawa County Fair, where they were showing their pigs. Mazy even got a chance to help brush them! This girl might be hooked, if her smile says anything!
Right after the fair, we went to our town’s local public work’s customer appreciation day! What a BLAST!
It was a HOT day, so to the sprinklers Mazy went – clothes, shoes, and socks on too. Who cares, right?
So Dan made a squirrel FEEDER…so needless to say we were a bit shocked to see this! A squirrel taking a rest on TOP of the feeder, as if it was his afternoon nap time.
Dan had the chance to help coach our church’s little league team this year. What a fun event every Wednesday, that we ALL looked forward to!
Mazy does not take naps anymore, but sometimes the day requires a little nursery rhymes on YouTube or Daniel Tiger…
Our college and career group from church went to a West Michigan Whitecaps game last week. It had been YEARS since I had been to one! Thanks to my Mom for watching Mazers while we enjoyed a night out with the church group!
And lo and behold…we knew the Playball Kids of the game! They went to our church! All of a sudden they popped up on the screen and we were like…WE KNOW THEM! How fun!
This girl just loves hanging out in our fishing boat! A boat that we got for free and completely gutted and redid! Sure was a tester of the marriage, but we made it through 🙂
Then last week Friday night, we went to a couple’s house from our church on Lake Macatawa, to tube, with our middle school and high school kids. We brought Mazy along for the ride, and oh did she have FUN! We are SO blessed to be in youth ministry, where Mazy has so many “brothers and sisters” who love her!
Stay tuned for pictures of our adventures to Beaver Island!
