Around The Home
This past weekend, I was able to go to my first ever women’s conference – True Woman 2018, in Indianapolis! I have always wanted to go to one, but never have, with really no excuse. So when our church mentioned attending this one, we weren’t sure where my heart would be at, but I decided to sign up anyways and Dan encouraged me to go. So I did and all thanks and glory to God, that I was able to! Two weeks ago, I didn’t think I could do it with how my heart was, but thanks to the new med I am on, I am feeling MUCH better! Granted one of the sweet ladies had a portable wheelchair that we took along and I rode in for part of the time because the distances between where we had to go and be, was a bit far at times, but I’m so thankful for the women I went with, who encouraged me to ride in it – I’m a pusher and definitely would’ve over done it! Plus, my dear friend, who happens to be a nurse too, was along which made me feel all the more comfortable!
As with any conference, you come back refreshed, renewed, and just thankful. The timing of it couldn’t have been better for numerous reasons, which I’m eager to share with you in later posts. But one thing I do know is that God sure has a mighty plan and to get narrow-focused on what is going on, but God is painting a bigger picture, and it’s GOOD. I will speak more on that this week, so stay tuned!
Side note, were you at True Woman 2018? I saw a few familiar faces, which was so fun! If you weren’t at this one, have you gone to one in the past?
And like I said, thanks to Dan and our families who helped make this happen! Help with Mazy was so easy to come by, thanks to their willing spirits! Dan is such an amazing dad too, and Mazy did GREAT this past weekend with me being gone! As you know, she has really struggled with this since she’s been young, but this past weekend, she was a CHAMP and I’m so proud of her! Of course it helps though, that Dan’s love for her is so deep and worked extra hard this past week so he could be home with her!
Here’s what the rest of the week looked like:
Sad day – we closed up the pool officially this week! With temps in the 40s, we knew keeping it warm would be tough! This girl sure had fun playing with all of the pool toys one more time though!
You know those moments as a parent you do something and then ask yourself, was that worth it? I had JUST vacuumed while Mazy was playing outside, but little did I know she had oodles of sand on her feet when she came in for lunch! Needless to say, I had to get the vacuum out one more time…
You may have seen my post on Facebook this week – I took Mazy in to get a flu shot, and it made me wonder how big she was getting. Her shoes and clothes were getting a bit smaller over the past few months and not to mention, our girl who doesn’t have much of an appetite, has been eating more than ME! When she was a sandwich, two apples, and 3 helpings of cheese and salami in, I knew something was up! I weighed her and she is up 4 pounds since the end of March, and has grown 3 inches! No wonder this sweetie has woken up with growing pains and is eating like a horse! That smile is just SO sweet!
It was a beautiful week to go to the park! Mazy loves to “rock climb” so anytime a park has one, she enjoys trying it out!
The view from our hotel room in Indianapolis for the True Woman Conference!
Keith and Kristyn Getty led the worship, which of course did not disappoint!
Not sure what monument this is, but it sure was beautiful, standing as a pillar in the middle of the city!
An amazing group of ladies to spend those two days with! Couldn’t have asked for a more encouraging and real group of women to grow in Christ together with!
