Around The Home
If you live in Michigan, I don’t have to say it twice – this past week was one for the record books! I can’t ever remember saying “It’s STILL snowing” so many times in a week before and when I said it, it was the truth. Wow. I do not think I was alive to remember any time that schools, businesses, restaurants, and the banks were all closed. Needless to say, we didn’t get out much this week, and though some of those days seemed long since it was too cold to go outside, we still had fun.
This is on Tuesday morning – the snow was past Mazy’s knee – and we had 2 1/2 more days of solid snow!
Who doesn’t love to build tunnels in the snow? Especially with cousins?
Even though we do not have a hill at our house, all the piles made for some sledding hills.
And when you get really bored, you just draw on your face with not-so-washable markers!
And a week inside does bring some sass out of this girl, but oh she’s so cute!
Dreaming of those sunny days…we look cool, right?
So on Thursday, we picked up the van from the shop, after we needed the windshield replaced. Then the next day, while leaving Aldi, the van wouldn’t start, so we had to get it towed (it was the starter). Two claims in one week? Not so great…
Mazy was so curious how the tow man was going to be strong enough to lift our van onto the truck.
We went our separate ways and then lo and behold, we met up with the truck later…and there goes our van…
The snow was FINALLY good enough to pack to make a snowman with! What was even more funny was that Mazy kept standing next to it saying, “It’s my first real snowman!” Apparently we haven’t been able to make a great one in the past…
And when the snow is too deep to get the stones to make eyes and a mouth, you improvise with charcoal and rope!
Hopefully this week we can get out a bit more, after we get our van back, and get back to normal living! What a fun week it was though, really! One that we will be telling our kids about for years to come.
