Around The Home
This past week has been one of recovery, which I talked about in my previous post, but I did catch a few other moments on camera! Actually, Dan took the first two – while I was getting the house ready before surgery, Dan took Mazy upstairs to help him mud a room we are trying to fix up. Once he showed her how, he actually said she was super helpful and understood what to do. He only had to go over the spots once after – otherwise she did a really good job!
We’ve got a jack of all trades in the making here! And isn’t that a way to a kid’s heart? Involving and enveloping them into our own lives? A simple act, where her smile says it all!
Mazy needed to take a nap last Sunday, but could not fall asleep (so she said). After snuggling with daddy, she had no problem falling asleep then. Out like a light! Though if I were that snuggled in, I’d be in the same position!
And of course, we’ve spent the rest of the week resting and hanging out at home. It’s the most comfortable place to be and I know I’ve said this 1,000 times, but we are just so grateful to God for giving us a family and community that loves us through the thick and thin. I think this will be my last surgery for awhile – at least we hope!
Having a sweet little 3 year old sure keeps me going, but also reminds me that we are in this together. This girl has been through WAY more than she deserves, but her love and compassion are just incredible. A whole new side of her comes out when “Mommy has surgery” (in her words). She keeps telling me that she doesn’t want me to ever go to the hospital again because she knows I come home not the same, but I hope in all of this, that she sees how good our God is and how He heals us time and time again. A faith lesson that I pray she takes with her, always.
