Around The Home
I am not sure where March has gone, but today is April 1, and what a past month it has been! So many fun activities, events, healing from surgery, hanging out with friends…definitely one for the books! So let’s go…
A week ago, Mazy met her NEW cousins! My younger sister and her husband had TWINS! A boy and a girl, and Mazy is clearly in love! She couldn’t stop talking to them and wanting to see them. So precious! They are like little siblings to her, since she wants me to have a baby so bad. This clearly satisfies her baby fix:
We have been working on our upstairs back room, and we have finally gotten to the painting stage. Mazy wanted to help, so this is what she meant. So sweet and unfortunately, I had to roll over her beautiful creations…
We visited the Critter Barn on a gorgeous Spring-like day in West Michigan, with friends! This cat was insanely big and Mazy was very fascinated by it:
Catching the first fish out of Grandpa and Grandma’s pond:
On Thursday, Mazy woke up with a nasty cough. As the day went on, she started to get worse, and we were supposed to live for a little weekend getaway to Wisconsin. Called her doctor and they recommended I take her to Urgent Care. She ended up with a viral respiratory infection, which like 90% of the population has right now (okay, not really, but the doctor said they have had 80 cases a day with this)! When we got home, she only got worse, which made me rather concerned, but by morning, her fever broke and she started to make drastic improvements. Can you tell I was a bit tired? Mazy was proud of her mask, until it started itching her!
Driving to Wisconsin to visit friends! Mazy improved greatly and I’m glad we had a day of riding in the car before a weekend of fun!
On the way, we stopped in the town where Dan’s grandpa grew up. Friesland, Wisconsin so reminded us of Prinsburg, MN, where we used to live!
We knew there was a street with the name STERK on it, so indeed, we found it! This maybe wasn’t the best selfie we’ve ever taken…
This is better! Definitely a picture for the books!
And we made it to our destination! Our friends also have twins, and Mazy sure loved to entertain them!
And her best buddy…
They look like a little family already:
On the way home, apparently Mazy thought my driving was a bit crazy because she wanted to wear her bike helmet:
While half of West Michigan made their trek south, we went West and had an incredible time catching up with friends that we call family. It makes me realize the value of relationships and friendships. And it doesn’t matter what you do or where you go…it’s what is created in the hearts and kept in them, through friendships. Something we will always cherish. AND…Mazy did INCREDIBLE in the van! By far the best road trip we have ever done with her! We sure were proud of that girl! Now on to a quiet and calm week!
Not to mention…GO STATE! You won’t hear me say that too often, but as long as they aren’t playing Michigan, I’m all for the green! Go get ’em MSU!
