Around The Home
Just looking at the sheer number of pictures I took this week, I’d say it was an eventful week here at the Sterks, but in reality, it was actually pretty laid back and such a fun week. Here’s what our week looked like in pictures:
Hard to believe that a week ago, this is what it looked like outside! Dan had to shovel Monday morning, but by the afternoon, we were outside without coats on. Welcome to Michigan!
This girl just gets me sometimes…
My buddy!
Easter egg hunt at her cousin’s grandma’s house:
Mazy fell in LOVE with kitties – and now we need to get a cat AND a dog! I mean look at how sweet she is with them:
Oh yeah, and she liked the candy too:
Easter egg coloring at Grandma’s house:
Mazy loves to be a princess and everything girlie, but then she’ll fish and grab and pet a fish:
So thankful for this girl:
Easter morning! And the many faces of Mazy…
Over the past few years, Easter has just meant more and more to me. The more I have wrestled with my heart disease, the more I have learned that we were made for so much more than what is here on this earth. We were made to glorify Him, through what we do, say, and think about. And when we celebrate the very fact that He has given us LIFE, eternal LIFE, and that we can sing and glorify Him IN HIS PRESENCE IN HEAVEN one day, just gets me every time. And truly because He lives, I can face my tomorrows. That has given me so much hope when circumstantially, it has seemed it was one bad result after another. Knowing that I live not for things here on this earth, but for Christ alone, gives me all the hope I will ever need.
Easter afternoon, after we spent noon at my parent’s house, Mazy wanted to go swimming. The pool is NOT open and it was a bit dirty at the bottom, but she INSISTED. So we got our suits on, and Dan dipped her in. And indeed, she stayed in there for a few minutes!
That CRAZY GIRL! She is clearly ready for that pool to be open!
Getting some rays and just relaxing as a family! It was hard to believe that less than a week ago, Mazy was putting her snowpants, hat, and gloves on – and now we were sitting by our pool in our swimsuits. Only God – the very God who promises a change of seasons – He sure proved that to us in an extraordinary way this week!
This week I look forward to having a check up at the U of M for my heart failure. It’s always good to hear their thoughts and just plan for the next step. On Thursday I will be speaking at an event for the Bible League, which I am really looking forward to. I am always so honored, humbled, and thankful to share about God whenever I get the opportunity. For He’s the one who has set me on this path and it’s HIS story to tell!
