Around The Home – Beaver Island
Like I mentioned yesterday, we spent this past weekend and the early half of this week on Beaver Island! Dan’s parents vacation there for two weeks every summer and they kindly invited us to join them if we wanted to. Well, it didn’t take much thought since we really enjoy hanging out with family! So this past Saturday, we made the drive up to Charlevoix where the Beaver Island Ferry sent us off on the two hour trek to the island! We had the most beautiful weather and the most wonderful time! Here’s what our little mini vacation looked like:
The bridge opening up so we could make our way through!
Making our way into the bay!
If you have never been to Beaver Island, it is a very rustic, gravel road filled island, covered in wildlife! It is gorgeous! And this butterfly is just a small sample of the beautiful life:
Once arriving at the cottage, Mazy made her way down to the lake (Lake Michigan), to build sand castles!
Taking a hike to Cable’s Point. Mazy drew us a “map” of how to get there, which she is holding in her right hand 🙂
Cable’s Point Bay
Mazy needed a walking stick just like Grandma!
Speaking of wildlife…we even saw some water snakes!
But the days were a bit too long for her…
This is probably one of the most unique toy stores I’ve ever been to! Of course Mazy had to get an Everest stuffed animal (if you only knew how much she loves Paw Patrol!)
Our view every single day! It truly never got old!
Making dessert with Grandma!
Even though the sun set on the other side of the lake, it was still reflecting off the water on the east side!
Picking up stones with Grandpa…and standing JUST like him!
Playing with play-doh on the boat ride back
Dan even caught a few fish at French Bay!
Mazy loves to touch “fishies”
Yes, that is me on both sides of the swing set…
What a fun week we had! Thanks again to Dan’s parents for having us!
