Belize Bound
Tomorrow is the big day!
As you can tell, Dan and I are extremely excited and humbled to go to Belize! We are both healthy thus far, so even more so, it makes going that much less worrisome. (BTW, thank you for the prayers!) And we continue to pray that it stays that way. We also pray that our team members stay healthy – one wasn’t feeling the greatest yesterday, so hopefully she doesn’t get what everyone else has been getting. Just trying to leave it in God’s hands!
We were a little bummed to hear that the weather is supposed to get a little crazy tomorrow morning, which is when we are supposed to leave. Apparently it is supposed to rain, then turn to ice, and then snow. All around the hours we are supposed to be driving to the airport and when we are supposed to take off. Our mindset is that we will get to Belize when we get to Belize! The weather is something that we are not in control of, so we will just take it in stride. We have had to deal with flight cancellations before and crazy flight schedules, so we are ready :). Side note: as much as we LOVE snow, this weekend has been so nice! To have mid-50s in mid-January is just crazy! Dan and I washed the vehicles and waxed them – something we should’ve done this past fall, but had other things going on. I ran today in a t-shirt and longsleeve shirt and capris. And sweated buckets. We were thankful we had the time and weather to do these things! To us, this weather has been in preparation for what we will have next week – the forecast for Belize is high-80s during the day and mid-60s at night. Definitely will be a change, considering tomorrow it’s supposed to only be in the 20s in Michigan.
Can’t wait to tell you about all that God had planned for us on this trip when we get back! Until then, pray for the team (there are 7 of us total) that our hearts will be open to what God wants us to do while there, and also that God will open up the hearts of the Belizean people, as we plan on handing out Bibles and beans and rice the last few days. Also for safety on the worksite and health for us all. We humbly thank God for this opportunity and are eager to see what He has planned for us!
