Blogging Survey RESULTS
THANK YOU to all those who filled out my blogging survey that I posted a few weeks ago! It was incredibly helpful to know what you preferred to read about.
With that said, if you would like to give me some feedback on the blog (no worries, you can stay anonymous if desired), you can STILL do so, just CLICK HERE.
Overwhelmingly, your favorite posts to read were about faith and then organizing. For some reason I was a little surprised by that, but incredibly encouraged by that response because writing about my faith is everything to ME. I wasn’t sure if it was what you enjoyed reading about.
The least favorite? Norwex and Usborne posts, and also recipes were pretty low on the list as well.
Those were the “biggies” to me.
The comments left were extremely helpful as well. I feel like many of you know much about our life, so getting to know YOU a bit more and what you like was fun for me. I am on one side of the conversation, so to hear from my readers was like me joining in on the conversation with you.
One thing I hope that you will find in this blog is REAL LIFE. I fear that my readers think we have the perfect life, perfect house, perfect child, perfect marriage. Well, I hate to break it to you, but we are FAR from perfect in EVERY SINGLE ONE of those areas. We have struggles. Our parenting isn’t perfect. Our marriage isn’t perfect. But one thing we do have is love between the 4 walls of our house. We love each other deeply and thankfully God’s grace fills in the rest!
After doing this survey, I have realized that most appreciate the real-life experience. I need to do some more posts on what real life for us looks like! So thank you for the nudge.
Also, a reader wondered if we were still working on writing a book. We ARE! I do not post as often as I used to for various reasons, but one of the biggest being because I am busy writing. I was hoping to have it done by 2016, but that was too lofty of a goal for myself and I am okay with that. I am foreseeing that 2017 will be a MUCH better year to publish a book. I have doubted the ability, but EVERY time I have doubted, God throws my doubt out the window and solidifies that indeed we are meant to write a book. My mom may be the only one who reads it, but I am okay with that. We have felt the call to do this with Brenda for a couple of years now, and so we are just answering the call. The most beautiful thing thus far in the process of writing this book, has been the clarity God has given both Brenda and I, with regards to our past. Not that we have complete understanding, but God has helped us piece together the beautiful tapestry of His sovereignty in our lives. It has brought us to tears on numerous occasions. Writing our story has been humbling but such a faith-encourager. To see how God has worked in just the littlest of details, to make His glory known. Can’t wait to put the finishing touches on it!
Speaking of, the book is mostly written. Now we are in the process of going through the nitty gritty details, proof-reading, etc. I’ll be honest in that I do not have a CLUE what I am doing, but that is why we aren’t doing it for us, but for God.
Another suggestion someone had was to talk about marriage more. After I read that suggestion, I thought “huh” that is a subject I rarely talk about! Here I talk non-stop about our daughter, yet rarely talk about the love Dan and I have! I hope to talk more about marriage in the future.
So thanks again for taking the time to take that survey! I can’t even put into words how much I gleaned from it! If you EVER want to have a deeper conversation, outside of just reading the blog, do not EVER hesitate to email, comment, or message me! Some of the friendships I have that are the most candid and real, are with people who I met through blogging. To this day, we still keep in touch, and I appreciate them deeply.
Thank you for reading and I hope that you find encouragement and are inspired through this blog. Much love to you all!
