Day 23: Bags and Purses
What: Bags and Purses
Why: It is time to pack and you can’t find that one bag you want to take with you. Or maybe it is a day trip you are planning for. You know you have the right bag, but it is no where to be seen because you have bags thrown all over the place. Or MAYBE, you have the perfect purse to go with that perfect outfit. But where is it? Below is a creative and hopefully helpful way of dealing with all the purses and bags you have.
How:
1. Find all of the bags, purses, and daypacks you have and then find same number of hangers as you have bags.
2. Bags/purses tend to be a collectible item – meaning, we try to have the right bag or purse for the right outfit. Go through each one and decide if you actually use it enough to keep it. Also, think about whether you need a matching purse or bag for a specific outfit – do you have any that you could use with multiple outfits? Whatever you do not need, donate them.
3. Create some space in a storage closet and hang each bag on a hanger. Hang them according to type. If needed, you can hang a few bags on one hanger (such as purses).
4. Step back and enjoy your organized bags and purses!
Confession of the Day: I used to throw all of our backpacks in the bottom of a closet or under our bed. They would get so full of dust and I got frustrated when I had to try and find the “right” bag. I then realized that I had bags that I did not use very often – in fact, I would only use them because I had them. I started to purge what I did not need and now I have just a few to choose from, all being different sizes (including backpacks). My husband and I are now able to fit them all in half of a closet and they are now neatly organized!
