Forgetting To Declutter: Pot Holders
Can you believe I am going to talk about decluttering POT HOLDERS?
Yes, I am because let’s be honest: when was the last time you thought about decluttering them? Do you have a drawer so full of pot holders that you can’t even close it? Does your drawer jam because too many are shoved in the way back, unused?
I used to be able to answer those questions with a big fat YES! Then I realized how pathetic it was to have as many pot holders as I did. I had one drawer for almost JUST pot holders! Yikes!
Well, maybe that is you – having one drawer for just pot holders. I decided that I NEVER have as many hot dishes that are needing protection from the table as I have pot holders. That is when I decided I needed to declutter.
It is as simple as this:
1. Take all of your pot holders out – of all sizes.
2. Figure out what the greatest number of pot holders you have used at ONE time is. Add 1 or 2.
3. Get rid of all of those that are broken and useless.
4. Choose your favorites.
5. Get rid of the REST. Each and every one of them. Don’t save them because you MIGHT use it – trust me, you won’t.
If all of a sudden you run into the problem of needing more, just use a kitchen towel. It is as simple as that. Now, your drawer opens and closes like it never has before and you are not hanging onto items that you never use.
Here is what my pot holder drawer looks like – I can fit all of my food packaging items AND pot holders all in one drawer and I LOVE IT!
You are NOW living with less pot holders. Who would’ve thought?
i have a big stack of pot holders too, why do we hold on to them lol getting rid of most today thanks xx
I thought the same thing – when I started this series, I walked around my home wondering what are some random items I hang on to. Then I saw all of my pot holders. Ridiculous! Glad you feel the same 🙂
