Game Week – Bible Match It, Link It & The Good Shepherd
Welcome to Bible Games Central (BGC) week on the blog! This week I am featuring new Bible games that BCG has created and the gist on how to play variations of these games. There is no better time to get a new game than just in time for Christmas! Not to mention, BGC also has FREE Thanksgiving and Christmas games on their website!
The next game I’d like to introduce is Bible Match It Link It. This is a fast-paced game played with 57 unique octagonal tiles. Each tile has eight images, one on each edge of the octagon. On any 2 Bible Match It Link It tiles, there is always 1 (and only 1) matching image.
If you have ever played Spot It or dominoes, this game is very similar.
There are 4 different ways to play this game. First of all, you can play Four in a Row. This is where tiles are arranged faceup in a 5×5 or 6×6 grid. To win, players must connect 4 of their colored tokens in a straight line, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
The second game is called Frenzy. In the first round, all players begin with 3 tiles. The first player to match and link all of their tiles wins that round and gets 1 token. Players who have won tokens must start subsequent rounds with more tiles. The player with the most tokens at the end of the game wins.
Another way to play is like Spot It, where each person flips over a tile and whoever finds the match first, wins! The person with the most matches/tiles at the end, wins the game.
Another game is called, The Big Picture. This is where everyone works together to match and link all 57 tiles.
(This is also a great solo game to play by yourself.)
Our daughter has loved playing this game and all of its variations! It’s wonderful to have a game where there are multiple ways to play it!
One more game for you from BGC and it’s called The Good Shepherd.
Holding 3 cards in their hands, players take turns to draw and play cards. You must try to get the highest scoring Sheep and Pasture Cards when the game ends!
Play a Wolf Card to steal 1 card from another player. Play a Stampede Card to force any player to give up all their cards. A Shepherd Card protects your hand against Wolf and Stampede Cards Play a Sparrow Card to peek at another player’s cards. Sundown Cards determine when the game ends.
You need at least 1 Sheep Card AND 1 Pasture Card to score any points. The player with the highest scoring hand at the end of the game wins!
