GIVEAWAY – Girl’s “Devotional” Book

We are BLESSED with so many devotional options for our kids! I have been asked often, “What is a good devotional for ‘this’ age?” When I worked at a Christian bookstore, I was in the up and up of what was new, what was good, what was foundational, “meaty”, etc.
Now, not only do I not work at a Christian bookstore anymore, the options are also ENDLESS. While trying to stay consistent in doing devotions as a family, we can go through them quickly, if we are doing them both at suppertime and before bedtime. But the thought of buying a new one each time, can feel very overwhelming.
I’ve also tried to think outside of the box. I started to borrow specific ones from our local library after doing some research, and have found some GREAT options. One of them being, “Courageous World Changers – 50 True Stories of Daring Women of God”. I knew within the first two readings, that this would be one we’d purchase and keep. It is FANTASTIC, yet unique.
PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT your typical “devotional” if you want to call it that. It also depends on how you define a “devotional”. I feel a devotional is anything that draws you closer in relationship to God and who He is.
That’s what this book does.
It depicts the life of 50 different women of history, using their story to inspire your child’s imagination and encourage them to live out their faith, using the gifts, talents, and the story God has given them, to glorify God. Some of them you may have heard of and others not. This is why this book is so inspiring – I’m not sure I would’ve heard of some of these women if it wasn’t for this book, and yet their lives have left a legacy that has impacted countless others. Here are the women that are included:

As you can see, these are women from different backgrounds, eras, and ethnicities, but each woman has lived out the calling on their life from God, in a life-altering matter.
Because I don’t think this book is necessarily meant to be used as a devotional, it does not have a Bible verse attached to each reading, but states how each used their faith to influence the decisions they made FOR God.
With that said, a verse can always be found to use in conjunction with each faith story. And let me tell you, THIS BOOK has influenced Mazy’s life incredibly. In fact, there was one day I asked what she dreamed of being and she told me, “Mom, I want to be one of the 50 women in that book someday.”
This book has inspired and welcomed countless conversations about faith, living for God in difficult circumstances, and selfishly has inspired my own faith as well.
So if you are looking for an “out of the box devotional” or book to read with your child, I HIGHLY recommend this one! And because we love it so much and Mazy can’t wait to read it, I thought others might enjoy it as well. That’s why I’m doing a….
GIVEAWAY for 2 (TWO) of these books! This is not sponsored by the publisher or anyone else, just simply my desire to get this book into the hands of others who are looking for something to influence their child’s faith. I know for our family, it has influenced ours.
