Healthy Eating Made Easy + Giveaway
Call it a fad or call it life-changing, there is something to be said about eating healthy. When I started to take more seriously what we ate as a family, I have to say it has made a difference. Processed foods do effect us, whether we see the effects of it now or later. Though ridding our diets of processed foods is much easier said than done, as the old cliche goes.
One thing I enjoy and am passionate about as a blogger is introducing and highlighting items that you may not have heard of or products that can make a difference in your life. I have been following the website Farm Girl Fresh, who happens to be a local business here in Minnesota. One of the things that caught my attention was their description about how our grandparents lived.
Think back to how they lived. I had the privilege of growing up around the farm, so fresh food was something that was always served. For them, it wasn’t only a way of life, but the way they lived and ate. Whether it be milk, meat, vegetables, or fruit, it was straight from the source with no artificial anything.
That concept and thought really had me reflecting on the way we ate today. Over the past few years, our little family has been trying to minimize the amount of processed foods we eat. Of course we are not perfect and yes, we have that occasional box of macaroni and cheese, hot dog, etc. Though, if you are looking to minimize the amount of processed food in your home and eat more fresh and sustainable foods, Farm Girl Fresh “guides you through the basics of growing, preserving and preparing better foods for a better you.”
Eating healthy, pure, and tasteful foods is not just a trend, but a way of living.
Farm Girl Fresh’s website is not just your average “healthy” eating website full of perfectly looking plates of fresh food, but it offers a tangible way of living that is feasible for anyone. Of course they have a plethora of recipes that are easy to follow, but they have also written a BOOK that offers simple and fresh ideas on how to impact your food habits when it comes to eating fresh and pure foods.
