Home Tour ~ Upstairs Front Room
This is a room we were excited to get working on, being that it will eventually be Mazy’s room! It currently serves as our guest bedroom, which for the time being, is perfect, especially since there is a wee little bathroom up there as well. Gives guests their own space!
We decided to take down the wallpaper and make it a bit more feminine. Though because I have yet to decide what color to paint it when Mazy moves up there, we just went with our living room color (Wedgewood Gray) since we had extra of it. There is no rush to move her up to this room, though we know she will one day appreciate the space up there, that she will have all to herself!
So here’s a glimpse into what our front upstairs room looks like:
Thankfully I have a steamer, which made taking off this wallpaper a bit easier!
We were surprised to find this red and white striped design painted on underneath the wallpaper!
Walking into the room…
This is a built-in closet that we decided to repaint white so that it brightened up the area a bit
These shelves used to be a REALLY dark green (I’d call it forest green), so I put numerous coats of white paint on them to make them standout a bit. Just gives it that clean and crisp look that I love! Oh, and Mazy wanted to throw her hand in this pic too.
Mazy knows that this is going to be her room someday, so she is THRILLED anytime we go upstairs!
Our guest bed that we put in the corner, but when guests come, we swing it out and put it in the middle. This is the bed where the mattresses we bought from Wal-Mart! The bed frame is from Ikea and the bedspread I think is from Wayfair.
Not much is in this room, but just a few things that help complete the guest room
So what have we done to this room? There were two larger holes in the wall by the window, so Dan patched those. We also stripped the wallpaper, as I mentioned before. We then painted the ceiling, walls, closet, and shelves. We are pleased with how it turned out and are just so thankful for a home where Mazy can grow up in comfortably!
