How To Have A Stress-Free Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day is a day we should look forward to.
Not a day when our blood pressure rises, when we spend more time planning for the day than actually enjoying it.
How do you have a stress-free Valentine’s Day?
1. Talk about your expectations beforehand. Many would like Valentine’s Day to be a surprise – everything from the gift to the restaurant. But imagine how stress-free it would be when you knew you wouldn’t be disappointed because you knew what to expect, and instead of living up to the anticipation of it, you could just enjoy the moment? In ADVANCE, talk about your expectations!
2. Don’t spend more time outside of Valentine’s Day, preparing for it, than actually spending time together. The whole point of the day is to celebrate love growing – don’t forget about the most important goal/part of the day!
3. One of the best ways to express your love to someone, is time together. Tell them. You don’t need to tell them by giving them something expensive. Make this Valentine’s Day stress-free financially, by not spending a penny, but using your words to express your love.
4. Take time to reflect. Don’t get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the Hallmark holiday. Take time to think about where you have been and dream about your future together. It is those memories that will last a lifetime – not a box of chocolates.
5. Don’t wow your better half with this grand plan because that means each year, you will have the feeling of needing to “out-do” the last year. Go small and stay small. You will make it much easier on yourself!
Take time – to just be. Let this Valentine’s Day be about the PERSON, not the POSSESSIONS!
Great tips! Your #1 is awesome and we JUST caught onto that this year. We do the same for all our holidays and it really reduces the stress.
Wishing you a lovely day.
xoxo
