I Still Believe Movie Review
Have you had a chance to see the movie, I STILL BELIEVE?
This movie is based on the true story of Jeremy Camp’s life and if you haven’t had a chance to see it, it’s a must. Jeremy Camp, even though you may only see him on the stage or hear his songs on the radio, behind it all is an incredible story of loving deeply, losing hard, and gaining hope. You will find yourself laughing one minute, but the other, grabbing not one, but the whole box of Kleenex.
Jeremy’s story resonates with many. Most of us can think of someone we have lost and the pain and struggle that encompasses it. And though we may not have experienced the same loss, the story proves that God can perform miracles when you least expect and on the other hand, leave some prayers go unanswered.
The emotions are real, raw, and you feel you are on the roller coaster of emotions, right along with them. And the best part? Despite all that happened (I don’t want to give away too much), at the end, he could still say, “I Still Believe.”
In this world, there will be trouble (John 16:33), but we have to remember who has taken over the world – Jesus Christ. One of my favorite quotes from the movie is this:
Suffering doesn’t destroy faith, it refines it.
And though we will all find ourselves in times of suffering, it is still possible to have faith and hope through it all. Even amidst the really ugly times. We may not always understand God’s ways, but his ways are so much higher than ours! This movie did a great job at depicting the realities of life, yet how we can ultimately give our life situations to the One who reigns.
On a personal note, Jeremy’s wife, Melissa, said one thing that reflected much of what I believe:
If one person’s life is changed by what I am going through, then it’s worth it.
That idea has been my life’s mission. I have not always understood why God has allowed what he has in my life. And I’m most certain you could say that same! But one thing I always say is if one person’s faith is encouraged or changed by what I am going through, it is 100% worth it. Again, God’s sovereign plan is so much better than mine. And I know one day, all of this suffering and pain will go away. Disease, sickness, death, and pain, will have a grip no more, for HE reigns.
So ALL that to say, I HIGHLY recommend watching I Still Believe!
