Make Time for Peace and Quiet
Tip #30 – Make time for peace and quiet
Multi-tasking, running from here to there, watching tv while catching up on emails. Busyness in a do-it-all world, may be applauded. But is that REALLY what we want? Do we really want to be busy? The noise of this world drowns out what we should be really looking for in life – contentment, peace, and thankfulness. Taking time to be still, to be quiet, to quiet our own hearts, is a necessity if we want to stay sane in this crazy world. Take time to find peace and quiet in your day. Maybe that means getting up a few minutes earlier or going to bed a few minutes later. Maybe it is not turning on the radio in your car and just driving. Maybe it is telling your family that you are going to go for a walk. Whatever avenue you need to take, take it – find some peace and quiet!
Kristin’s Action Plan: Exercising and walking to work is my quiet time. Time to listen to the outdoors, time to actually listen to my thoughts. To listen to what my heart is telling me – not the world. Also, my devotional time in the morning is vital for me personally. I can tell if I miss a day – I don’t have as “peaceful” of a day because my mind was not started in the right place – with God. Peace and quiet is sometimes hard to find, but it is worth searching for!
I completely agree. I HAVE to have quiet time or I cannot make it through the day!
Yes! In fact, just this morning I woke up early (earlier than normal) and I decided to just get up before the rush of the day starts!
My quiet time at this stage of life is after I have rocked the baby back to sleep. He is up.from about 5-6:30 and then I get anywhere from 10-30 min before my oldest son wakes up. Call me crazy but I don't usually mind the routine.
You are exactly right Tessa, your stage in life. I think you are doing a great job at finding a "quiet time" considering being a mother of young ones. I don't call you crazy – I call you determined – to find what time you can, to have a little peace and quiet. Keep it up Tessa!
