Mazy Turns 5!
Our sweet Mazy Grace turned FIVE yesterday! This age brings MUCH anticipation for the day and she just couldn’t believe it was her BIRTHDAY. Oh how I love living life through the eyes of a child at times! This past weekend Mazy was able to have birthday parties with both sides of the family and she loved every moment of them. She is so proud to be a whole hand now and remind me that she’s 5 now. I can’t get enough of her sweet personality, smile, goofy-self, and determined heart. She knows what she wants and is very certain how life should go, but I see that shining through in her faith too. She KNOWS God will answer her prayers and thanks God in advance for doing so. Her faith encourages mine and her love for the simple things in life, tweaks my view on life too.
Obviously this birthday will always be one to remember, considering the fact that we couldn’t really “do” much, but we learned quickly that for a 5 year old, it’s just about remembering the day and making the most of it, no matter what we do. Also, I wasn’t able to make her birthday parties, which I shed a tear over, because I had a bad case of food poisoning. Very disappointing, but nothing I could do, and at least it wasn’t Mazy. So here’s what the past weekend has looked like:
Birthday party with the Geurinks:
Celebrating at the Sterks:

Opening presents is hard work:
Wearing her new golden retriever shirt proudly:
Birthday morning, we watched her new movie, FROZEN 2! She was absolutely THRILLED that she got it, since she had been asking us for weeks to get it! Then we went to the park for a little while, but not going to lie, it was pretty chilly. We played in the afternoon, then ordered Vitale’s pizza for supper, since we couldn’t go out. Thankfully though, that is Mazy’s favorite restaurant, so by all means, she was disappointed! Then we headed to the beach and of course had to grab some ice cream on the way! All things that could be done practicing social distancing!
Mazy loved going to the “ocean” as she called it!
The name of the game? Who could get closest to the waves without getting their feet wet. For the record, by the end, we all left with wet feet:
Love this sweet girl SO SO much!
