New Year, New YOU: Tip #7 – The BEST YOU!
Tip #7 – Start each morning with the best YOU.
What does it take to start your morning off just right? A good night’s sleep? Exercise? Quiet time? A good breakfast? We all have an “ideal” morning – make a list of what yours looks like. As you consider what a good morning is to you, how can you change your daily morning routine to look more like the mornings you desire? I know, some of you may say they just aren’t feasible. Maybe to some extent they aren’t. But what is something tangible that you can do today, to start your morning off right? Often the start of the day is a precursor to how our day will go – start it off RIGHT!
Kristin’s Action Plan: I am a morning person. I enjoy getting up, unrushed, to start my day. Though, there are days when I feel I am rushed – that means getting up 15 minutes earlier the next. I put this into action at the beginning of the school year as I started a new job. I would get up at one time, but realize I was too rushed for my liking. That meant getting up 15 minutes earlier and I have to say, it has made a WORLD of difference. Yes, I lose a little extra sleep, but that means I just go to bed 15 minutes earlier. Getting up on time to hear the morning, do my devotions, eat breakfast, check my email, etc., is well worth it! It takes a little bit of work and maybe even a little sacrifice. Make YOUR morning what you want it to be.
I feel the best in the morning, too. I need that little bit of alone time to wake up on my own with a cup of hot coffee and don't want to have to talk until I have just a few minutes to open blinds, wipe down kitchen counters and get my day "set."
Ah, aren't those the BEST mornings? Quiet, alone time is so peaceful :).
I'm with you! Starting my morning off right makes such a difference. My boys are up at 6:00 lately, though, and I'm having a hard time getting up before 6:00. I just might have to do it, though!
Amanda – I have to say, when the kiddos get up at 6, I can see where the thoughts of getting up even before THAT, would be hard! I would say be smart – if they both take naps in the morning, just make sure you set that time aside for YOU. Good hearing from you Amanda!
I love my mornings. I get up about 2 hours before my kids (6:00 am). I read my bible, exercise, shower, and if I have time, read a few blogs.
Wishing you a lovely day.
xoxo
Ah, those are the best mornings, aren't they? Granted we do not have kids, but to get up and do the things that prepares YOU – so refreshing! Sounds like you are in a good routine and a HEALTHY routine too Jennifer! Awesome to read 🙂
