Short Weekend In Michigan
As I mentioned yesterday, there are some big changes ahead for the Sterks, as we will be moving to Zeeland, Michigan in June. My husband accepted a call to North Street CRC and we could not be more confident in God’s leading. There have been some pictures that I have been excited to share of our very quick trip to Michigan for the interview, a week and a half ago. God’s timing is always perfect, right? We had not planned on traveling home for Mazy’s birthday only because the 10-11 hour drive is just getting long, but since we were going to be home for a short 48 hours, we decided to celebrate Mazy’s birthday in that timeframe too. Not only did she experience her first flight (as she would call it “plane up sky”), we were able to see family that we had not seen since Christmas. A blessing we did not know God had all planned out. So here’s a little glimpse of that weekend in pictures:
What a joy it is to see a child unwrap a present! The concentration, the excitement, and the anticipation, all wrapped up in a little moment!
She felt she had to “hide” I think so no one would take her gift from her!
My mom makes the best birthday cakes and I right away said yes when she asked if she could make one for Mazy!
I wanted to make a little crown for Mazy and though it’s nothing fancy, she felt pretty special!
Together again! We also were able to get together with Dan’s family at night, though I failed to take any pictures of the gathering! It was so good to catch up with them all as well!
Our sweet little 2 year old!
The last 20 minutes of our flight home, she finally fell asleep! Yes, those are socks her on her hands – she often takes her socks off and puts them on her hands during naps. Well, apparently she thought this was also an appropriate time as well!
Mazy did so well on the plane! She had just a few little meltdowns and one of them was over being hot. So, we let her take her shirt off and cool down. Silly girl!
It was a busy weekend that called for a little nap on Saturday!
On the flight to Michigan…again, what a trooper!
Watching the planes come in!
On the shuttle bus to the airport
It was a wonderful weekend filled with many emotions, but a weekend confirming God’s calling on our life. We could not be more thankful for God’s provision on our life, His little divine appointments here and there to confirm His will, and His constant grace and mercy He so freely gives. Amazing grace, how sweet the sound!
